People use those, and it helps, at least to some degree, or where the main Wi-Fi coverage doesn't reach. But I'm very sceptical... I know you can use filters to separate mains and the high frequency signal. But still - high speed data transfer over unshielded cables... that sounds like a lot of noise + the cables would be acting as antennae radiating elecromagnetic noise. I don't know the frequencies they are using to transmit the signal over the cables. And how those devices even pass EMI specifications to be allowed to be sold.

I have this and use it. I am on a copper feed line, and it helps get all 25 MB of internet we can get. I also used to work for a company that installed these and charged way more for the product. They are widely used where copper is the only option.
