Nezarec Solo with Whisper of the Worm | Echoes Act 2 (Destiny 2)

I was very much challenged by this solo. It took a monumental amount of effort, studying, and perseverance. I've wanted to complete this boss solo for a long time but never got motivated to actually sit down and try to learn it. Recently however, I saw someone post a clear using Whisper of the Worm as their heavy of choice, and the idea was really fascinating to me, so I was inspired to give it a try as well, feeling like I could get the running portion down pretty quickly (and thus the main obstacle SHOULD, theoretically, be just executing on damage).
Well, running solo on Nezarec is frustrating and there is a decent amount more nuance than I remembered or gave credit for. Keeping track of resources and making route adjustments on the fly is definitely something of a task, and combining that with the slowing missiles and Nezarec himself's unpredictable behaviour, I was faced with an obnoxious obstacle... before even getting to damage! Damage itself took me some time and study, and really a lot of practice. But eventually I started locking in and making the most out of the time available to just unload Whisper. The thing about this strategy is that every moment of damage phase is valuable due to Whisper's mechanic, so you really want to spend as little time as necessary casting abilities, otherwise the damage falls short.
Final stand too proved to be a bit of a challenge, as for a while my other damage phases weren't as clean, so what would often happen is I would spend a lot of ammo and my super just to make it to final stand. The problem? Final stand is a bit sketchy to do without a super + apotheosis veil. Once I realized this, it was only a matter of time before I got the run... except my luck was miserable for a few days, so the odd couple hours here and there just led nowhere. Until I got "that one good run."
Of course, this whole writeup is not the Bible of solo Nezarec. There are definitely other more experienced runners for this who probably have some insight I don't, but as with most challenges, I avoided tips or direct guidance from other community members, as I do enjoy trying to build my way to a clear independently when possible. why is he barely moving during dps is that just simply because its just you?

@@lmrecordsgaming8003 This was a pretty significant thing for me to figure out, and one of the many reasons why I spent so long on this fight. Nezarec's behaviour during DPS (at least when you're up there) is to start by lifting his scythe in the air and slamming it for the big attack (this is the one where you can shoot his armpit and it counts as a crit). From there, if you're visible enough/close enough he seems to just spam the projectile move and then eventually do another big slam, so what I would try to do is start the damage phase by getting him to be in a totally exposed spot near the ledge of his stage, then once his animation for damage begins, I step back to reduce my character's visibility, just to where I can still see and shoot over the root that I'm standing on. Nezarec would typically stand still if I got this correct. But to answer your question a little more directly, it is probably easier to get him to behave like this with just one person. I imagine that with 2 or more it would be a bit trickier, but potentially possible to make this kind of strategy work (obviously, the fewer the better).

I couldn't give a hard number without doing some math and analyzing the footage, but you can expect whisper to do up to ~140k per shot or so with Felwinter's debuff, whispered breathing, empowering rift, sniper's meditation, and 3x solar surge. This does not account for damage from unraveling rounds (caused by arcane needle melee), fire blobs shot by Hellion, or scorch + ignitions caused by a combination of Hellion and the sniper artifact mod for scorching targets on hit, all of which improve damage

Whats the debuff % you get from finishing a red bar with felwinters? Would star eater apotheosis not be more optimal for dps?

It would, but collecting 6 orbs in this solo is a huge pain

@@aimxri quick question... Would you say prislock with the old mercyless Edge damage is still the safest Bet ?... I'd Like to Go for full solo this season and i saw a Lot of Runs using the Pantheon Spot but i'm also Not to Sure on that

@@Shinybook51 Ah fair enough. I have wondered if not Necrotic/Star-eaters would be a decent go to for like easy ad clear, and building up orbs, etc. I dunno if anyone has tested if swapping to another star-eaters bond loses your stacks. But you cleared, so obviously no real need for it.
