I am beginning to see why this game is remembered of all games, two players are attacking simultaneously. It was just a matter of who gets the first punch, and when he did, it doesn't stop. I can't imagine why Rashid Nezhmetdinov wasn't a GM, because he can knock all the great players out, like it was a Tuesday, and he might not even be surprised of that.

I haven't made a study of it, but my guess is that Rashid won on brilliance and lost on basics. He probably had opportunities to become a GM despite the politics of the time. Perhaps he was looking for a beautiful game where an ordinary game would win. I don't really know...
@NotSoLiberal

5:05 I don't think that BxNd5 is a bad move here for Black. If e5x, Black can play Qb6+ first to move the queen out of harm's way with tempo. Then, if Be3, Black can counterattack with Nf4. Or if Kh1, Black can play Nd8. Either way, Black ends up in a playable position.

A mystery to me is why he wasn't labeled a grand master and also a bigger mystery is why people questioned Tal for having him as an advisor? It makes me think : are they stupid? In chess, actually, it doesn't really matter if you do move the same piece many times or if you're a Grand Master, this guy, or that servant from India, because there are no weaknesses in the wake of checkmate. The focus is to win, that's chess.
