I relate to this song and here's why. I moved out of my parents house. It was toxic and an environment I did not want to stay in anymore. I was raising my siblings. And because of that I never had a childhood nor a teenage life, I am the oldest of 10, I was always caring to their needs and I would always put myself last. I didn't really have time to hang out with my friends because I was either at work or I was being a parent to my siblings. And because of this it has made me not want kids in the future. My life was incredibly hard. My parents were very strict and it made it very hard for me to have fun with any of my friends. If I stayed out later than I said I was going to they would yell at me. Or if my siblings have missed out on something because I was out or I was at work or I was just not feeling well I would get in trouble. Growing up I did not do anything bad I didn't sneak out I didn't do substances that I shouldn't have done. On October 7th I snuck out for the very first time, my best friend was over and we went to a different town and saw some of her friends. We came back before anyone woke up because I knew if they found out I went out I would have gotten in deep trouble. After a few hours of being home she and I went out again. And while I was out, my mom sent me a very nasty text, basically saying how she never sees me anymore and how I'm not helping and contributing to the stuff in the house and not being there for the kids when she needs me to be. I was almost always at work, when she would say I was never there. I had my own car and still never had my own freedom. So the same day October 7th, I looked at my best friend and said I want to move out now. Because we had already started planning on getting her own place, and we told our parents that we were moving out soon. Well that sooner Came faster than my parents realized. My best friend and I packed everything that was in my room and put it in both of our cars. It took us 2 hours to pack everything that was in my room and put it in our cars. When my mom had found out she started blowing up my phone. I never answer for any of her calls or texts because she was just going to gaslight me like she did my entire life. I'm happier now than I was living with my parents. Every now and then I do get home sick because I do miss my siblings because raising them and always being there for them. I have been put through so much, and listening to this song... It helps me realize that I wasn't the only one who had a bad life. Reading the comments on this makes me feel bad for everyone who had to endure a shitty lifestyles. But I just want you guys to remember that whoever reads this comment I hope you know that life gets better in the future whether it be by you or the people who you call friends that are now family, just know that life is honestly shit, but the people you invite into your life, well make it so much better. I have known my best friend for 11 years now. She has seen me go through so much and she has been there for so much. I wouldn't trade her for anything.
