He’s never said it officially publicly but I am quite certain that a lot of this song was directed at the Christian music industry/fans who were deeply upset with his choice to take his game through the secular route. He pretty much says it with the bar about people who sit in the pews at churches. What’s incredible is how he knew it from the very beginning - he knew he would be able to reach the masses with the blueprint he had drawn up in his Brain. Appreciate you and your skills, my brother.

Jelly roll used to be a hardcore gangster hood rapper and he said one of the most unique things I've ever heard and I never really seen it til he sa I d "when I stopped making music that was destroying my community and started making music that could actually help people when he blew up and it was basically overnight with 1 song when he released Save me he was so nervous and worried literally sick l iistened to tha5 s I ng probally 25 times b4 he actually put it out I'm older and have known j for some time and when I told him yes it's different but it's powerful and is real that anyone going thru it in life can relate to and there's a hell of alot more people going thru it then not going thru it cause personally I don't know anyone who don't have problems of some sort they need saving from do you and he dropped it and I think it took I want to say 18 hrs to surpass the amount of views of all his previous combined and the rest was history
