This is the first representative game of the pre-season, leading up to the season launch in Las Vegas. The two teams represent the first nation peoples of Australia (indigenous) and New Zealand (maori) and are selected from a variety of sources but mainly from the NRL clubs. For the nest two weeks the NRL clubs will be trialling their squads before the season proper begins. Your website is developing a strong following from the rugby league community and many of us are very interested in the US opinion of our sport.

7:26 He was kicking to the in goal area behind the posts so they could trap the other team inside it. If a player is tackled inside of that area with the ball the attacking team gets the ball back. Which is why the guy evading them and making it back to safety was so impressive. So the kicker was not making a mistake he just wasnt trying to score points.

Damn you upload quickly. Legit impressed, it hasn’t even been 12 hours since the game ended

This would be for you like Canada v USA ( next door neighbours ) in ice hockey but it’s Australia v New Zealand NRL and make it only indigenous players from the land . That’s the best part , the NRL has so many opportunities to show case the sport internationally, state of origin and indigenous All Stars to club games and the Grand Final . Keep up your knowledge and content on the game coming bro , it’s fun to be into the game and it’s never the same unless you’re there at the game .

There was a women's match on too, that was more extensively publicised than the men's one! You've done well to find this! 👍 The Maoris are usually larger and fiercer! 😁

You mentioned about wanting to know which teams the players come from? If you look at the left shoulder of each jersey they have a print of that players club logo. A rabbit, a dolphin, the Warrior logo etc etc

The indigenous team actually has some of the fastest players in the game in their backline. So its interesting that you noticed the speed, because you are right it was a major difference.

PS The person on The indigenous side the number 7 he is Nickolas Hynes he plays for the team named Cronulla Sharks i go for them. But they aren't playing in Las Vegas.

We have different terminology on Stiff Arms. What you call it, we call a “palm off” or just “palm”. Our Stiff Arm is a swinging arm across the head or face of an apposition player - that is outlawed these days.
@joshski857 ай бұрын
We call a stiff arm a palm and it's a huge part of the game. Whoever told you it's not is tripping.

From your comments, two things you said I want to comment on. 1. Free Kick - That's called a penalty kick. When a team is in possession of the ball playing offence and the defensive team offers a penalty due to an illegal infringement and the offensive team is close to the try line, they have the option of taking a kick for goal for 2 points. This kick for goal is called a penalty kick. 2. Can he stretch out and score? - No he can't because that would be an illegal move and a penalty offered to the defensive team. Why is it a penalty? - when a player is tackled, and the tackler is wrapped around the player with the ball, and the arm carrying the ball has made contact with the ground, that constitutes a completed tackle. At this point, the tackled player has to play the ball. In this case, the tackle was completed, so the player with the ball cannot reach out to score - that would be illegal and will result in a penalty to the defending team and change is possession of the ball.

This is what they did in the beginning that the highlights cut out. It’s the New Zealand Haka my cousin Dane Gagai whom is also indigenous Torres Strait Islander his dad come from Badu Island and his mum is New Zealander is the third on in the green shirts to do his part of the haka he speaks in our island’s language mixed with Māori language and then the Australian Indigenous side do an Aboriginal war cry first that follows at the end with a Torres Strait Island one with another of my cousins with the green and blue flag draped over his shoulders at the beginning of the wary Hamiso “Hammer” Tabuai-Fidow before they come face to face with the New Zealand side for the second time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/apaqYZWmo6mXmqcsi=vSUy4lpVAZ5G-o4p

I keep hearing you say stiff arm.. I'm guessing in the NFL you guys refer to it as a stiff arm. But in the NRL we call that a fend off...
@MsDearne7 ай бұрын
It was frustrating because New Zealand had all the ball possession and they made every mistake possible....I've never see so many mistakes 🤦 Maoris should of won and nah it was only one game and in regular games they have 2 40 minute games with short break. It wasn't a good game
@SPUDAD6667 ай бұрын
6:15 - "Can he not stretch it and get that?" Answer is no. If you're tackled and momentum pushes you and you slide over the line in a single movement, yes it's a try... if the tackle is effected complete short of the line and you reach out to score from the tackled position on the ground it's known as a "double movement" and it's a penalty to the defending team.

The Indigenous MENS Team have Embarrassed The ''NRL ALL STARS'' Which Is The Rest Of The Competition A Few Times/Seasons.. Then They Brought In The ''Maori'' Team New Zealand Natives.. The Indigenous MEN Lost A Lot Of LEADERS Over The Last Few Seasons RETIRED But The Future Is Looking VERY STRONG Also Some Indigenous Players Were OUT..
