Cards are serious in rugby. Yellow means you are sent off for 10 minutes and your team plays a man down, red means the rest of the game. Players one, two, and three(the front row) have to be trained for that position for on field restarts(scrums), so if one of them gets sent off and there is a scrum you have to pick another player to sub out for a front row specialist, and all subs are permanent.

There are 2 cards that a ref can give a player in Rugby. Yellow card: the player has to leave the field for a 10 minute "sin bin" Red card: the player is permanently sent from the field and will need to attend a disciplinary hearing. 2 yellow cards for the same player in the same match = red card

Appreciate your reaction to Rugby. NFL is a different game although looks similar, training is different, tackles are more reckless, some rugby tackles are banned but not in nfl hence the pads and helmets. Rugby is a combination of skill, stamina, strength, courage and team work. NFL is a combination of skill, athleticism and putting on a show for the crowd. An NFL coach once said, "If my guys would play Rugby out of season and nfl in season they would be much better players technically and stamina wise, but then it wouldn't be nfl" A brilliant clip to react to is:- Most entertaining 3 minutes of rugby ever. Highlanders vs Chiefs. It shows the stamina, skill and team work, without stops.
@vattmann13875 жыл бұрын
I agree. NFL is more dangerous due to the armour. Lack of armour in rugby makes it about technique rather than just hits. It's a lot like boxing compared to bare knuckle fighting.

@Mthuthuzeli Musa Football is way more dangerous . It's estimated a 2 football players going full speed is about the same impact of a truck hitting you . Rugby isn't on the same level. You must be 5 to think that .

S O F T T E A R S 🤣🤣🤣🤣 guess you’ve never played rugby or even watched it..:. Suggest you do. Rugby players don’t hold back and two forward each weighing 19 stone will charge and hit each over over and over again and don’t need a break after every hit. Rugby is on a different level for so many reasons.

In rugby you can't take out a player in the air because it is dangerous, it happens a lot because there are a lot of kicks in open play. You can smash into them if you were making a reasonable attempt to get the ball as well, but if you get your timing wrong it is your responsibility to help the other player safely to ground. On the other hand if you have the ball you can't jump into tackles, or if you could hover, or you would be penalized for creating the dangerous situation, that almost never happens.

rugby win ayy imagine them wearing gears! 2x stronger mayb!
@terwinfillis64755 жыл бұрын
We don't need the gear. But it is a different beast." During the NFL season, there are 53 men on each team’s roster. Only 46 of the 53 are active on game days, for a variety of reasons" but In international matches, eight replacements are allowed; in domestic or cross-border tournaments, at the discretion of the responsible national union when it comes to rugby meaning only 23 players at one game running the ball without 3 timeouts as per the NFL and only one half time brake. So I do to a certain degree agree with you 80min non stop play those flashy touch downs will be cut short by stamina and proper defense.

When the referee shows that yellow card it means that the player is sent to the ' sin bin ', and the player has to leave the game for 10 minutes. They can't be replaced during that period so their team is penalised by being a man short. Those tackles where a player is 'spiked' like in wrestling is an illegal tackle but it happens pretty regularly. In my opinion NFL hits harder because of how the players are always in the right position to hit due to taking up the right positions after every down.
@dominicm2554 жыл бұрын

NFL is more dangerous, coming from a rugby player. If NFL players did their hits with no pads and helmets, well they die. You can still die from rugby hits, but our contact has been made safe, yes they hurt, but at least the risk of death is minimised. There is no way those NFL athletes can play the way they do, without helmets and pads. If they had no protective gear they would have to sanitise the contact to make it safer. Both brutal sports and respect to both, But NFL hits are bigger because you need protective gear to stay safe.
