Aaron Glenn is a legitimate candidate. In a perfect world, he could potentially be our Mike Tomlin, in that, I can see him as the long-term JETS head coach. Long-term as in perpetuity. The culture only changes through accountability & long term stability. I believe that Woody will get this right.

I like the idea of a former Jet getting the head coaching gig. His connection to the team is organic
@metsr18rhq2 күн бұрын
I'm hoping for Glenn. I know that Vrabel is established however, I'm not crazy about his offensive approach. Very plodding. Glenn comes from Detroit and it's high power offense yet, he's a defensive coach. I think he'd have a great defense yet, try and install a Detroit-like offense.
@gitmobob62662 күн бұрын
I am not opposed to a defensive HC because other than Gase, the problem with the Jets offense has been the OC's. Whoever they choose, I would want to know who the OC will be.

Glenn, Rex and mangini were good for the team in their own way. It would be nice to see these guys build a winning culture here.

I think the next coaching trend will be hiring former players to coach- Kevin o’ Connell is one of the best coaches in the league ! HE is the reason why the Vikings are so successful! Demeco Ryans changed the Texans , and look at what DAN CAMPBELL has done to the Lions. Would love to have Glenn or Vrabel as head coach.

Glenn and Dimitroff seems like the best pairing imo. Which is surprising because I really wanted an OC HC, but it seems like, besides Ben Johnson, none of them appear to be better candidates. With Glenn, you have a guy who’s no BS, has his defense HUMMING no matter WHO is playing, he has former scouting experience and former playing/FO experience with the Jets. Oh, and he’s already verbalized his interest, which is something we will NOT see from other candidates! With Dimitroff, you have a 2x Former EOTY, who has good league connections, who drafted 2 HOFers, and who clearly has an eye for offensive talent. The only downside to him was his record drafting defensive players, but Glenn’s coaching/scouting acumen would ideally shore that deficiency up. If Dimitroff can attract a good OC, and draft the right QB, then I think this is a pairing that could get this team over the hump.

@ I wouldn’t be upset at Vrabel,and I think if we decide to keep Aaron he’s the better choice. Just that retreads fail more often than people seem to think. The NFL moves quick, and retreads more often than not are guys who have failed to adapt to the game’s changes.

If Jets go first-timer, I'd like Glenn to get the job. Not really concerned about the DC thing. Other than Walton (brief success), Jets have also hired Coslet, Kotite, and Gase from the offensive side of the ball. How'd they work out?! 😒

Great content again JC. I'd prefer Glenn, over Vrabel even though those should be the top 2. I hope they hire the GM first and hope they can hire someone who's been around people who draft well, and also is good at acquiring talent. My top choice GM wise would be Louis Riddick, or Mike Greenberg want NO PART of Jim Nagy, or Jon Robinson. Jon Robinson drafted very poorly back with the Titans.

Hey Ian... Would love Vrabel as well, but i can see the NY media joking that the NYJ head coach is an Ex- New England Patriot.. a Franchise that has owned us the past decade... Im curious to see if Rodgers has any inside input on who the HC should be? If Woody is undecided between 2 or 3 candidates, would he go to Rodgers for his input? I would stay away from Glenn. Ex Players on a Team has not done so well recently as HC.. Mayo in NE, Pierce in Vegas, Saturday in Indi.. lets just stay away from that... If Glenn is hired, I just see a repeat as to when Bowles was here...
@H4mmer232 күн бұрын
If they’re looking for a coach to get them to forget the franchises checkered Phast, then they probably shouldn’t hire a former jet from that checkered Phast. They should probably hire a formidable coach who is done the job and done it well instead of rolling the dice on someone who’s never been a head coach. We’ve done that already and we’ve seen how it goes. All in on Vrabes

I'm 61 ive seen it all except too young for Super Bowl 3. All this nonsense means nothing if they get the coach and GM they want if candidates pass then we have a problem. Woody has looked bad before but never this bad. I think he finally learns to back off this time like Dolan and the Knicks. He was the Ambassador to Great Britain he can't afford to look so immature. The next GM and HC are not going to put up with this and this is where Tannenbaum and Spielman earn their keep. Tannenbaum can settle this situation down because all eyes are on him this is a big moment for his company. Remember this team has young talent the situation will calm down with Wilson when everyone is in place just ride out the crap. Let's face it the Jets do bring too much on themselves but everyone loves to attack them. Funny how this story about Johnson making comments about the Jets draft pick after it happens and it turns out to Maccagnan taking Hackenberg well Woody wasn't wrong but why is the story coming out all these years later? Everyone loves to pile on the Jets

Glenn would be a likely Robert Saleh 2.0 Another DC promoted to HC. Not saying he would absolutely be bad. But how many times do the Jets have to hire these 1st time Head Coaches to LEARN that this is NOT a good move for the Jets. Hire Vrabel or someone cmparable. NO MORE 1st TIME HEAD COACHES. PLEASE.

I wish whoever takes the Jets Head Coaching job good luck. They’re gonna need it if you believe all the crazy rumors about Woody & the culture at the Jets. As a life long Jets fan, I’m starting to believe them. What else can explain the constant losing? The lack of morale? The performance of MVP & Hall of Fame caliber talent that do amazing on other teams, but come here and do worse! I just don’t get it. Something is seriously seriously wrong with this organization at the core. And I say this as an eternal optimist. It’s so bizarre. I think that’s why I always comment on how I think the Jets need a New Stadium. A home of their own. One that’s actually IN New York. They need an exorcism! 😈 A totally fresh start. To sever ties with Giants/Met Life Stadium once and for all and strike out on their own. I wish that would also include a new owner, but that’s probably not gonna happen until Woody dies. I just get nervous, because us Jets fans always get our hopes up with a new coach & players only to be dissapointed again & again. This place seems to crush hopes. I hope I’m wrong this time, and Vrabel or whoever comes in here can rise above it all… and produce results. I really hope they can deal with a meddling owner & a hostile NY media better than previous coaches and create a winning culture again with the Jets. I hope they can take us back to the playoffs, championship & a super bowl again. I hope. I hope. LETS GO JETS!

I think id rather see the Jets go after the OC of the Lions, Ben Johnson. NYJ football has ALWAYS been great D, pedestrian offense- win ugly. The Jets do not know how to develop QBs. Theyve only drafted 1 HOF QB that i know of, Joe Namath. Joe is the first NFL QB to throw for 4000 yards and the ONLY Jets QB to do so. The Jets do not know how to develop WRs or TEs either. They have a knack at late round gems. They are REALLY GOOD at developing defense. DEs, DLs, LBs and decent at the secondary. They will NEVER be a good team until they figure out at developing offensive talent
