0:01 - Regarding the Falcons, I think the players thought that it was not going to reach 10 yards and made a split-second decision to not get the ball that backfired. Had they touched it and did not properly get possession, then the kicking team can recover the ball without it going 10 yards. Basically, they knew the Cowboys could not touch the ball, but waited too long.

I know some people are saying the onside kick by the cowboys was terrible. As far as I understand, there’s a new rule this year which makes onside kicks like insanely harder to recover. The new rule is that, instead of kicking team starting on the line of the ball (as well as a running start), now the team has to play 1yd behind the line of the ball with NO running start. For example, the bengals browns game was really good but it was almost a guaranteed game over when bengals had to onside, wasn’t even close. It appears that the cowboys special team or kicker decided to kick it MUCH slower (which is smarter) for their kicking team to arrive to the ball at 10yds off. This rule was made to ensure more of a safety protocol for receiving team players.

On a kickoff I thought the ball was "live" unless it passes all the way through the end zone for a touchback or was downed in the end zone by a receiving team player. When I watch games today in the NFL when the ball goes into the end zone the kicking team does not even try to cover it in the end zone for a touchdown. Has there been a rule change or is it a difference between college ball and NFL? I know that this never applied to punts.

Atlanta still hasn't gotten over 28-3 I see. Still scared to mess up so they do nothing.

I never understood the Leon Lett play. Isn't the play over when field goal attempt lands on the ground?
@Namath10004 жыл бұрын
No, it's not dead when it lands on the ground. If the defense leaves it alone, it'll ultimately get blown dead -- which would have been the smart play -- but the defense can pick it up and attempt to return it. But that obviously risks a fumble, a muff, or whatever the heck Mr. Lett was trying to do.

I wonder why the second "illegal" forward pass isn't treated as a fumble. You'd think after the first legal pass has been made and completed (back to the quarterback), that if he just chucks it on the ground after catching it, the play should still be alive until somebody gets possession. Instead they still treat it like a pass and blow the whistle and even signal incomplete, after it hits the turf. (1:12) Tom Brady did the same thing this year, but actually completed it and the play was only blown dead after Mike Evan's forward progress was stopped, and then the play called back due to the obvious penalty.

3:51 Doug Pederson was the holder in the Leon Lett game? Damn lol.

1:54 did a player on the receiving touch the ball? Or what’s the rule here
@Macabre1244 жыл бұрын
you can look it up but if the balls bounces initially first bounces in the field and ends up in the endzone without going out of bounds and the opposing team recovers it, its a touchdown

That 2007 Bills Football Team game, the Bills didn't score a TD that game. The only points were scored by the Bills were one safety and 5 FG

For the Cowboys/Dolphins, that was the last game that year that the Dolphins won (0-5 the rest of the way. It was also the last game the Cowboys lost on their way to the SB.
