Here in the Netherlands our public news channel made a podcast about gay (male) soccer players, made by a lesbian sports presenter and two gay sports fanatics (and presenters). Almost no one wants to talk to them about gay soccer players and now they’ve found a professional gay soccer player who isn’t public about it, but appeared on the show (which was a really big deal here). He said he didn’t mind being not out, but he still talked about how hard things were. He just didn’t want to be the first out active gay soccer player. It’s such an important topic!!!

Some of us Southern boys grew up playing football because we wanted to not because we were forced into it. People need to stop tearing others down and simply support the cause of loving one another across the board. BTW: LOVING THIS FORMAT GUYS! You guys were too harsh on Snow White. Remember it was the 30's and this film was made by a dad for his little girls. So, of course she was going to sing to the animals and such. Not to mention the original story was so much darker when you read the Grimm story. She was called Snow White because her lips were red as blood, her king as white as snow and her hair as dark as ebony. Luca sounds amazing guys! Thanks for sharing! This was a great show!

Hey guys, been longtime follower; I just caught your podcast: great surprise! Quick tip/ comment= feedback! Quick background: went to Emerson College Boston: one of countries best Communication schools. So, I have some exposure to field. My observation: Zack, you have a very distinctive, deep voice with great resonance: something worth developing / preserving for the purposes of developing a trademark sound! I’ve only listened to one podcast, but have definitely noticed your speech pattern has speeded up compared to your KZbin shows. Which has raised the pitch of your voice. My advice: slow down a little: we’re with you! What you have to say is interesting, smart, great observations and truthfully, I’m amazed at how fluent and spontaneous you are in such a new medium; your doing great! Also, maybe consult a voice teacher to develop your breathing technique. Proper breathing will help you keep and develop your unique- god given gift ( your voice)! This all comes from a place of love and respect. Good luck , you guys are doing great. P.S. Alister ( sorry if spelling fucked) I didn’t forget you, but this post was simply a technical observation. Your BOTH amazing: smart and extremely verbal, perfectly suited for success in this venue! Sincerely, ken

I can't wait to see Luca and loved how Alastair lets his emotional flag fly! I just finished Mare of Easttown last night and thought it was superb. Kate Winslet just nailed the character and the Delaware County accent. I'm a little biased because I'm originally from that area of SE Pennsylvania (Chester County) and it was fun to hear the towns and dialect. Please, please watch and review, gentle morning show hosts!

I am more shocked that they remade Westside Story,(a travesty), than Rachel Zeigler, a nice Jersey girl playing Snow White. Brandy played Cinderella in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella on TV, originally played on TV by the great Julie Andrews, so I don't think this will matter, especially if she is very good in the role. I do love the original Disney version which was groundbreaking for its time. I was planning on watching Luca, b4 watching your podcast today, for some reason, the fact they are in Italy attracted me to it even more. It sounds like a good movie. Glad u talked about Carl Nassib, maybe a huge , tough, NFL player coming out will open the door for others & normalize it. I look forward to your Podcasts , there is usually something I did not know or I find interesting that I would have never bothered to look at.

I agree the lgbt community needs to be seen more wide spread. I'm gay and a mechanic. You do not see that very often at all. The more gay people seen working "cis gendered" jobs the less they will be afraid to come out, because you're sexuality doesn't mean that you're not man enough for some of these jobs.

I saw on the news that the NFL is apparently going to match Carl Nassib's donation to the Trevor Project! I would LOVE for Megan Fox to make a triumphant revival in the series whether in a new role or reprising her old one and completely torching the previous movies for the way they just callously tossed her character aside. I haven't seen Luca yet. Based on your review of it though, it definitely sounds like it is a gay allegory. The part where you say Luca is warned about people not being accepting of him definitely paralleled with how Victor's mom discusses him coming out to the school in the first episode of Love, Victor. I also swear there was another movie with two closeted gay characters and one decides to come out and the other immediately turns on him to the crowd out of fear but I can't recall it. I have no doubt I am going to cry when I end up watching it. 😭 Damn Pixar making me feel things!!

Happy Wednesday gentlemen; Schitts Creek yesssss. Alastair love your heart And Zach thanks for supporting Alastair and his heart makes me tear up. This show seemed to have one theme with a skip to Snow White and transformers. I felt a theme of Carl Nassib coming out and the importance of expanding the view of what a gay person looks like. It’s funny how people want to put something in a box: gays look and act like this , good now I understand. However we are an integral, typical group living in society. The more diverse cis males come out it forces that labelled box to expand and one day I bet in your lives (Alastair and Zach) individuals will just chose the person they love and society will only notice the love and not the gender. Here’s hoping. That theme seemed to be inclusive of the Luca conversation and the story line as you guys observed. You certainly made me want to watch it which, I will do today. Another great insightful morning show guys, thanks.

OK I'm watching this 8 months after you guys made it. First, love watching you guys, your addictively engaging to me. You may be making a living doing social media, but you're real as apposed to "reality TV" which for all intensive purposes is scripted. Vacationed in the Cook Islands where a season of Survivor was filmed and the stories about cast detailed about the contestants such as stop I'm hot and tired and then go take shower. A couple of other things - while pop culture is interesting it's way to front and center in American Culture, especially with millennials. Maybe this is an out come of social media. I'm a boomer, and as my husband points out I can be a BIT stifled! While I can see the interest in some of the people always talked about, many don't do anything except be famous. What did Paris Hilton do or worse the Kardashians (sorry Zac). I like to hear about people that do things besides social media, i.e. Ellan, Colton Underwood (my husband thinks this guy is conniving), Carl Nassib. Last while watching, I though Zac hasn't mentioned Tom Hardy since early AZT stuff and low and behold Tom is mentioned (I too would leave all including my loving husband if Tom asked0. Don't think he's gay but probably the least heterosexist actor around. He did say ‘Of Course’ I’ve Had Sex With Men ‘I’m an Actor for F**k Sake’!

Zach, I don't think you made a business here out of being gay ... you didn't come out just to make money. You made a highly successful site by appealing to thousands of people who loved what you did and what you stood for and found what you said relevant to their lives and found your videos entertaining. You had talent and charisma and would have made a success of anything you did on KZbin.

Fun discussion today. I agree with both of you, more visibility is important (regardless of who is coming out). I also agree that Luca has been receiving a lot of analogies to LGBTQIA+ groups (& I’ll leave it as that). But as Pixar films go, I actually didn’t enjoy it much & it ranks probably at the bottom of my Pixar list. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Love you guys and love all your videos. I am really enjoying these podcasts and keep the video version. On!y comment about today's podcast is Zach you seem kind of angry today. You were all over Alistair a few times and I'm not trying to be supercritical so it's just an observation rather than a criticism. One other comment I'm a straight white 70 year old married guy who stumbled across your videos and was immediately hooked. I go to church AND totally support gay marriage and normalization of alternative lifestyles. I know this sounds like some of my best friends are (insert minority group name here) hyperbole but I am just speaking from my heart. Anyway.....love you guys and wish you both peace and love.

I think pretty much any story about being different can be seen as an allegory for queerness, and that is totally fine. There’s no reason for anyone to be upset if you see queerness in a story about being different, whether or not that was in the creator’s mind. I think there’s something universal about feeling different, because everybody feels different in some way from everyone else. So seeing “Luca“ as a gay allegory is just as legitimate as seeing it as an allegory for any kind of othered group.
@jr5599

I totally agree with you, but I do think we go overboard sometimes, like when some of us in the community insisted Disney make Elsa gay. That was never the intent of the original movie. It was about the bond between two sisters. Sure, Elsa had a power that made her different and people were afraid of that difference, but we can't assume that every single time a character is written to be different or outside the norm, that they are gay.

As a kid growing up in the 70's, the majority of gay men in the media were presented as tragic caricatures, difficult to assess just how damaging that was for a whole generation. Thankfully we have sea monsters n🙂w.

Who gives a rip what his politics are? We need to stop being so divisive. I thought we were supposed to be all about inclusion. Does that only apply if you think the same as me about everything?? BTW - love your new evening/morning show!! ❤️

I mean if you're actively hurting your own community that's shitty, that being said people do a lot of wacky shit in the closet and a big part of coming out is deconstructing what parts of yourself just existed due to peer pressure, it's possible being GOP was just part of fitting in for him, football players aren't typically the most politically aware people, they're busy enough with football.

This is exactly what I've been saying for years. Bravo Jonathan. Organised religion has a lot to answer for with regards to preaching hatred about our lives. It is not a choice, it's in our DNA and there's nothing we can do about, and if I could I wouldn't want to. It's me. Cheers, Paul.😀👍🌈👬❤️

Not sure I'd say Carl's coming out was brave necessarily. He waited until he made his money.

Lol, i hope you guys watch these later on because you are doing the same thing others are doing. If you want it to not be a big deal when someone comes out, then dont make it a big deal. According to polls, most Americans don't care about another persons sexuality, they just don't want the show that goes with it sometimes. Allistair, go outside and get some sun. Thst side of the screen is too bright. Lol, just .essing with you.

We’ve been on KZbin 5 years. Biggest thing I’ve learned is that discussion, representation, and visibility absolutely matter. We’re not there yet, so it is a big deal. You don’t need to agree.

@@coffeeandtequilashow i know, ive been a subscriber for 5 years. I also know we dont have the same views on some subjects. Its apparent from your livestreams. Im just older than you both. Lived through some hard times for people like us. Ive met great people that were kind and supportive, and others who weren't. Making spectacles of everyone that comes out puts their sexuality before the person. To some that pushes them away. What I've noticed in my experience is that people are more accepting of this if they know you first. A persons character is most important. Everything else is secondary. Im not saying people should hide who they are, or not come out publicly. I believe who you are or strive to be is the most important aspect of an individual. I'm gay but I'm also so much more than that.
