I'll be honest. When I saw the title of this episode, I was 😰 not excited. As someone who does not look fondly on reality TV in general, however, I did find this discussion about the show illuminating. Even if I try to avoid things like Keeping Up with the Kardashians like the plague, I do acknowledge that it has had a significant impact on numerous people's lives. Especially, as you guys addressed, the body image and body dismorphia concerns among women (and possibly also among men) that this show perpetuated. Thanks! for this discussion.

The big difference between you and them (aside from their 💰 lol) is your stories were actually relatable and had a weight to them. Everything I'd ever heard about the Kardashians was always so petty and over-dramatized; like cry me a river. However, if they helped inspire you to vlog, I will be forever grateful to them. 😁

Never got into.the Kardashians, Paris Hilton or real housewives....just never got into that. Guilty pleasure is 90 day fiance. I never got into Gossip Girl, but speaking of Reboots, when Will & Grace came back on with the same cast(just Jack), they called it a reboot. Maybe tomorrow , since it is Pride Month, you can talk about Carl Nassib, a Defensive End for the Las Vegas Raiders NFL Team, a 5 year veteran of the NFL coming out on Instagram the 1st active player to come out as gay. It is a big deal , the NFL & his team sent messages of support & as he said, he did not do it for attention, but to represent. He made aarge donation to the Trevor Fund One other thing about the body image, especially for Zach, 90 % or more of the comments about your looks are almost nauseatingly positive, so why do u dwell on the negative. Accept the fact that you are not repulsive & be happy. I enjoy your podcasts, I like Pop Culture, keep up the goodwork.

Morning guys happy Tuesday to you both. You guys wear caps well. By the way I start all week days well by listening to this new morning show I follow, something to do with coffee and tequila. I never got into reality stuff other than maybe amazing race, (and Zach and Alastair) but it is hard to avoid Kardashians, this was a good way to learn about them. I liked the body image discussion and think you guys are on a positive path of being healthy first. You guys always look good and have since 2016. I wish viewers wouldn’t make certain comments, what motivates people to do that? Thanks for this lunch-talk :) Kardashians-wise I think I'm too european/dutch to enjoy a real-life-soap about the über-wealthy (and here already have a royal family ;) ) so only seen a few glimpses, tbh thought the whole thing already dissolved years ago. Besides that not seeing their privilege is problematic in itself (pretty sure NL would become a republic if our royalties act this way), also find the influence on the world (beauty standards, egocentrism, hard capitalism, gossip, toxicity) not really something to be applauding. (social) media for sure contributed to a thinking that can easily lead to body issues, and with our mind generally more triggered on negative comments, you have to shield yourself from it, or see the relativity in the thoughts of others. Even in (what suppose to be) an inclusive community like ours, the standards and phobias are so normalized that it harms people. Not sure how to change that, other than not trying to judge others, and point to people if they do. (without losing the ability to make fun of quirks: because if you ban that, creativity and humor is gone) Have a good day, enjoy this one: maybe next is going to be worse 🤭 [in line with Zachary's optimism..]
