@@notorioussob9445 That’s true but for a QB to get close to Tom, they’d have to take pay cuts after their rookie contract, which no one is doing. They’d also have to win at least 2 rings on rookie deals just to be even close to keeping pace. Also, most QB’s are running now, that’ll lead to injuries.

Honestly, what makes Brady the GOAT... Not his play, not his skills, not his longevity, not his determination, not his clutch gene; what makes Brady the GOAT is how in 22 years you never see any NFL player from any team say something negative about Brady. He has the utmost respect from his peers and the coaches in the league. The guy is an anomaly.

@@efraimsoloway4420 I don't mean this offensively but that sentiment would lead me to believe you didn't play at a high level. Don't get me wrong, I understand where you're coming in the sense that his stats speak for themselves and he shouldn't need anyone else's validation. But the praise he has from other legends absolutely is what cements him beyond the numbers. They're not just praising his play that coincides with the numbers they're praising everything else he puts into himself and puts into others to be in a position for his team to win regardless of his personal stats. Him taking pay cuts is a stereotypical Tom Brady story but an example none the less of something that his teammates and even opposition attribute to his greatness but it's not something a fan could know to praise him for until someone like a teammate says "Tom Brady got me paid" and then eventually players did the same just to be able to play with him

True story. Back when I was living in North Attleboro, MA, about 3-4 miles from Gillette Stadium, and when I was 34 and living in a condo, I used to walk to a place called Bagels & Cream to get my pregnant wife her bagel and coffee in the AM. One time I walked in, it was about 6 or 6:15am, and there was only one person in the place. I placed my order with the girls like I always did and then stood about 4-5 feet from some tall dude watching the TV and NFL highlights. It was the Monday after the Patriots came back to beat the Chargers if I remember right, and one of Brady’s 1st real clutch games as a pro. He had taken over for Bledsoe that year when he was hurt I looked over and thought I recognized this guy. Remember, Brady was not a well known figure at that point but being a huge Pats fan, watching the team and all the press conferences, I knew exactly what I was looking at. Now, Brady was obviously not the player he is today, so I just kinda said something to the effect of, “Hey nice game and good luck this season”. He looked over at me, smiled, and said “Thanks man. We are going to do some amazing things for all of you” (referring to the fans). I laughed and said something like “Well I hope so it’s been a long time since this team has done anything worth really watching”…..I mean I know the Pats had gone to the SB with Parcells but it was also BB 2nd season if I remember and we won like 5 games the year before. He grabbed his ready bagel (probably doesn’t eat that stuff now) gave me a fist bump on his way out and said “thanks for the support and hold on”. I laughed and thought to myself “that kid thinks he’s gonna take this team places? Bledsoe will be back soon”. Looking back on that I’ll never forget that moment obviously, but just the small thing he said showed me the fire this guy had from the time he was just getting started. Amazing.

The TB12 achievement that never gets mentioned is not the number of rings, or yards, or passes, or TDs, etc. It is, how many other players he's managed to drag along with himself into the NFL Hall of Fame. Went to some classic playoff games, prob the most intense was AFC championship against the Jags. What an atmosphere, you could feel the intensity in the air. I think the greatest game of all time was that AFC championship at the Chiefs. Even as a patriot fan the most satisfying SB run for me was year one at Tampa The fact he actually did it year one with a new team and I can’t believe I’m saying this but my favorite TD pass of his was that one to Scotty Miller at the half against packers in NFC championship. That’s when I knew he’s actually gonna win the SB that year.

@@MikeySkywalker I don't see ANY similarities.Mahommes has been labeled the "Heir Apparent" since he won his first SB.Tom Brady has been overlooked and underappreciated his ENTIRE career. The referees cheat for Mahommes they even gave Mahommes a SuperBowl by maintaining a soggy wet field to neutralize the Philly pass rush during the SuperBowl not to mention the phantom referee calls against Philly. Tom Brady on the other hand was suspended 4 games for a BS charge of deflating footballs AND HE STILL WON A SUPERBOWL. Tom Brady won 7 SuperBowls and went to 10 AND STILL people thought Aaron Rodgers was better. Aaron has only 1 SuperBowl and WILL NEVER WIN another. Patrick Mahomes has 2 and will probably win, AT MOST, 2 more for his entire career, but people talk about him in a way THEY NEVER SPOKE ABOUT TOM BRADY. People have been singing Mahomes praises since he won his first SB. Outside of Boston people didn't start singing Tom Brady's praises until the Atlanta SB.(which coincidentally was the same year Roger Goodell suspended him for 4 games on some ignorant deflate gate nonsense) although it was ultimately determined that "It's also impossible to identify what, if any, advantage was gained as a result of the alleged deflated footballs" Tom Brady never got the money for his 4 game suspension but he got his revenge by Winning the SB and Winning the SB MVP. No one will ever do this in any team sport EVER. (Come back from a suspension to win the championship and the MVP) There NEVER WAS, nor will there EVER BE ANOTHER TOM BRADY He alone sits atop the Pantheon of Greatest QB in Football History and no amount of Football media "spin", referee cheating or filthy Roger Goodell machinations or "directives" will EVER change that. Not only should Tom Brady have his own floor in Canton, they should build another extension to the building to house all of Tom Brady's achievements, since he actually had 3 Separate HOF careers in his 22 year career, The Tom Brady extension of the building should be 3 floors.

@@Righteous628 you don’t see any similarities? Seriously dude? 😂 look I’m a huge Tom Brady fan. But this just reads like you’re a delusional fan. You do realize that you sound like Tom Brady’s haters when you talk about Mahomes right? Brady haters have all kinds of excuses for why Brady isn’t actually that good. Tom Brady was being talked about as one of the best, his second year in the league. He was being talked about in the GOAT discussion after he won his third Super Bowl. Who is “people?” Brady is generally understood and agreed upon as the GOAT by almost everyone, and has been since he won his fifth SB. The reason there was some doubt is because people overrated Belichick. So they took away from Brady by saying he had the best coach. Plus, he was never flashy, and doesn’t do much of the flashy stuff Mahomes and Rodgers do. Mahomes is a good dude. He’s humble. His teammates love him. He’s all about football. He isn’t totally full of himself, given how great he is. I don’t think he is anyway near Brady. But, I think we could have gotten far worse options than Mahomes to be talked about as the heir apparent. Heir apparent doesn’t mean he takes Brady’s place as the GOAT. It means he takes Brady’s place as the best player in the league and the face of the league, and as the next potentially great QB. You don’t have to get offended by other people being mentioned as great players, and as potential successors to certain roles played in the league. I mean, if I’m being honest, when you talk about Mahomes, you sound like a Jets fan or a Colts fan or a Bills fan, talking about Brady.
@Righteous628
@Righteous628 Жыл бұрын
@@MikeySkywalker I appreciate your take on Mahommes but I disagree with your assessment of Tom Brady. Roger Goodell gave Tom Brady a 4 game suspension and Bill Belichick undermined Tom Brady every chance he got,I am convinced Bill Belichick purposely mismanaged games to spite Tom Brady because he was jealous of Tom.NE loss to Philadelphia in the SuperBowl and another game where the Jets beat NE to bump them from another SUPERBOWL run was definitely because of Belichick.Tom Brady will NEVER be surpassed or even equalled. But despite your take on Mahommes my issue with him is the NFL interference for their victories. Patrick Mahommes was playing with 1 leg in that SuperBowl against Philly and Philly that year had led thw league by a WIDE margin in NFL SACKS. The only way Mahommes doesn't get annihilated is you neutralize the Philly pass rush AND that is exactly what they did by their "Failure" to properly manage and protect the field.They allowed the field to be soggy to neutralize the pass rush. I guess I would have a better appreciation of Mahommes if the NFL wasn't constantly putting their finger on the scale in favor of KC.

Tom Brady never got this praise when he was with the patriots. Then he goes with the Tampa Bay bucks for two years, he’s the greatest that ever lived. You don’t hear cheater anymore. All these hypocrite comments below, were the ones that called him that.

You know they called president Trump a lot of things too a bunch of lies he never colluded with Russia it was killary, the two fake impeachments were a total scam so you can't believe everything you hear , Especially when it comes to Brady he had so many detractors and haters and maybe you didn't hear many players talk bad about him , but the commentators , especially guys like Troy aikman who s*** on Brady when he was accused of a lie , and backtrack a few years later when he was spewing how great Brady was in a game and how he was the goat and he always knew this about him and yada yada yada I remember! Troy aikman s******* on Brady and other commentators doing the same. Those NFL football tests were biased , unreasonable and poorly done and of course it came out after the trial by fire and the NFL fineing the Patriots and taking away their number one draft choice! I'm so glad Brady won the super bowl that year to prove to the commissioner what a mistake he made by docking him four games at the beginning of the season. I love watching the commission hand Brady the trophy, the commissioner I won't say is useless name must have been s******* in his pants and Brady was laughing all the way to Disneyland

That’s because most people just gave up. The same happened with Jordan. The same happened with Gretzky. Eventually, people realize how great they are, and acknowledge it. Especially after they retire. It also helped that he went to a totally different team, and won the SB in his first year, after that same team went 7-9 the year before, and all they changed was the QB.

I really think the 06 year showed how great Brady was when he was a game away from the SB with a retiring Troy Brown, Reche Caldwell and Doug Gabriel as his WRs. Brown was maybe a #3 at that point, Caldwell abd Gabriel were borderline practice squad. He made them viable. A bigger accomplishment than throwing 25tds to Moss the next year

The moment at 5:57 where Deion says BB is arguably the greatest coach ever in any sports franchise and LT has to sit there and swallow that is amazing. He will always be remembered for saying BB has no class following the "Lights Out" game in the 2006 NFL playoffs. One of my favorite Patriots victories ever.

The G.O.A.T., in my not so humble opinion, is the same as Brady's when he's been asked this question: the greatest Qb I've ever seen lace a ball into tight coverage, and do so while makin the defense look utterly inept, is Joe Montana...so for Montana to say what he did here about Brady, and as a true fan of the game of football, not just his chosen squad *cough GO NINERS cough*, it was incredible, for me anyway, to hear....
@keithstewart9890
@keithstewart9890 2 жыл бұрын
I love the honesty dude I was never really a niners fan but I was a Joe Montana fan because the Patriots sucked ,and Montana was the greatest. I also was a Kenny stabler fan , Roger staubach fan I mean I always loved quarterbacks who got the job done like Terry Bradshaw in big games. The Patriots never seem to have that guy and then finally Drew bledsoe came along as the number one pick finally our savior is here LOL 😆😂. Drew, he was supposed to be the guy oops well he won the super bowl with the Patriots and he was lucky to win that one even though he did win the AFC championship game for us when Brady got hurt but in the super bowl they started Brady and the rest is history

And Brady started 48 post season games .. that’s 3 more seasons worth of games.. and won 35 of them (.729 wp). Both NFL records. QB with 2nd most playoff starts is Peyton Manning with only 27 (14-13 .519 wp) Joe Montana, a legend in his own right and the Goat prior to Brady, is QB with 2nd most playoff wins with only 16 (16-7 .696 wp). Brady did this against playoff teams .. the best teams in the league. No doubt, Brady is the GOAT of Goats.

Rice subtle about trying to undermine Brady "in his era" Yeah Rice forgot that his 49ers team was put together in a non salary Cap era where for 10 years in a row the Niners had the highest payroll in the league.. So high the money they spent on offense alone was higher than the entire salaries of 6 different teams over that period People have selective memories ~ I'm the guy who cures them of amnesia

It's the end of a era it's going to change the whole NFL next year without tom Brady in a uniform there is a hole in the entire game because of Brady there will be a decline in total revenue tv/cable will feel the loss and it will be so much different without tom Brady in the NFL! It wouldn't surprise me if in the next few years before the trade. Deadline that huge offers for Brady To come out of retirement just to be on a team for the playoffs that maybe just maybe he does this one time and brings that team a Superbowl that's what hope means that's the NFL without tb12 just hanging on to some minute hope that some team will talk Tom back for one more thrilling ride that's sad that this is all we have left!

I believe what has made Tom successful is his preparation.. watching tape, practicing different plays with the team as well as on his own. Holding himself accountable. Sure Bill helped alone the way but the work ethic, the need for showing the world that he isn't one to under estimate. So Bill showed him how and what to watch for, but Tom took that and brought it further than Bill could have ever thought. Tom is why he is the GOAT..

He can still take descent teams into playoffs 5 more years. I believe he could win another bowl in that time. Yes it pisses me off cause I know deep down that he still wants to play and he still can. Tom Brady won 3 SBs while the defensives were able to shut down the best offensives. The Ravens, Steelers, Giants and all the other defensives with multiple HOFers. Then kept winning through the rule changes that weakened defensives and made offenses super high powered and he kept dominating the league. No QB today will ever have to face those old school defensives that Brady did. Also went against another top 5 QB every year in Manning his whole career. The NFL is too vanilla now, no great dominate defensives and no great QB rivalries. Another great era will come someday but it isn't now.

@@keithstewart9890 2 failed Hail Mary attempts. One to win, one to tie. The other one ended on a dropped 4th down pass at the Giants 25. They would have had 2 seconds left to kick a FG for a tie. No one mentions this when they talk about the three losses. He could have easily been 9-1 in Super Bowls. Philly gained a huge break when Brandon Cooks went down. Against the Giants, he ran out of time, twice.

By all means, if there were an expansion team starting in the next two years with an empty roster that would sign Tom Brady, I’d assume all great players without a ring would sell their mum to be on that team and chasing their ring and getting their ticket to Canton. It’s the praise from the competitors and peers (other QBs from his era) that settles the GOAT debate for me. When you hear what guys like Lewis, A. Donald, Ed Reed, Strahan, Von Miller praising him (that never played with him) und guys like James Harrison, Darrelle Revis, Richard Sherman, Aqib Talib that both played with and against him it tells me everything I need to know.
