Thanks so much for these. Keep em coming if you got em! 1995 was a fascinating season. A lot of storylines (Cleveland and Houston moving, expansion teams, the Lions 7 game win streak, the Raiders collapse, Rams hot start) a lot pf surprise playoff teams (Chiefs, Eagles, Colts), and teams that disappointed (Cardinals, Browns, Patriots).

RogueGust Steelers went on a 8 game winning streak, Falcons got in the playoffs by beating the 49ers on Christmas Eve in Week 17. Carolina beat the former Super Bowl Champs 49ers in Candlestick Park. Randall Cunningham final year as an Philadelphia Eagle. Buddy Ryan final year going back to Philly as Arizona cardinals coach. New York Jets.....JUST END THE SEASON. Green Bay won the NFC North in 23 years by beating the Steelers in Week 17. 1st time People saw Future Hall of fame Terrell Davis as a Rookie. Glyn Milburn with 404 punt returning yards against Seattle in Week 15. And ladies and gentlemen....The "4th Down and Dumb" game Cowboys and Eagles where Barry Swizter went for it with Emmitt Smith and didn't get it costing the game. Man.....such an exciting season in 1995. Can't forget Herman Moore putting up big numbers in Motown. And the world got to see Steve Mcnair for the 1st time as a Oilers in Week 15.

I understand trick plays are gimmicky and you have to use them very sparingly, but I haven't seen that one at all, you would think some team would do it at least once every 5 years or so, someone please correct me if I'm wrong if you've seen it and tell me which team did it and when, I would like to know

That Eagle/Redskin game was insane, and it really sent the Eagles on their way that year. We were an unremarkable team, we weren't the most talented, but for those first two seasons (95-96) Rhodes got the most out of them. Once the talent level dipped and his hard nosed style wore thin late in 96 it was a rapid decline in 97-98.

The 1995 Dolphins were never the same after losing this game to the Colts, and neither were the Colts; finally Indianapolis had a team they could root for unabashedly (yeah, I know there was the 1987 division winning team, but that was a strike year, and those years are always kind of funny, and that Colts team was over and out in the playoffs).
@gluserty5 жыл бұрын
I was a fan, but in retrospect I think it's a bit amazing that the 1995 Cowboys won the Super Bowl: their roster top heavy and thin, while their head coach was overmatched (I like Barry Switzer, but pro football wasn't his game. He stayed out of the way though, so that was the only thing to do). Also, there were distractions galore off the field with partying and suspensions, a total soap opera atmosphere (the L.A. Lakers of the early 2000's were like this as well). It demonstrates how great the Cowboys' front-line players were to (barely, and even that was a struggle) win Super Bowl XXX (fittingly, a Super Bowl with "XXX" as Roman numerals).

Yeah, these modern day QBs wouldn’t know WTF to do if they were actually facing defenses that could hit hard and low. Defenses that could blitz without any hesitation of a flag. And then throw at receivers who were covered much better. They say Patty Mahomes is the Michael Jordan of the NFL. MJ took harder hits in shorts and a tank.

Warren Moon beat his old team the Oilers in Minnesota in OT. A rivalry is born as the Steelers face off with the Jacksonville for the 1st time and Mark Brunell takes them to School. The Buccaneers gets in 1st place as they beat the Bengals. Dan Marino set a record in passing but wasn't enough to beat Jim Harbaugh and the Colts in Miami in a late game in OT. Boomer Esiason, Andre Reed, Jim Kelly get wounded but Thurman Thomas come through in the end to beat the Jets. Carolina come up short in Chi-town. The Pope blessings touched the Meadowlands as Dave Brown Jesse Armstead run pass Buddy Ryan and the Cards in OT. The Raiders give Seahawks hell in Oakland. Barry Sanders makes hamburger out of the Browns in the Sliverdome with a big day all around. Deion Sanders wasn't playing, Michael Irvin Troy, Emmitt Smith " The Triplets" pick apart the Packers. Redskins and Eagles go at each other throats in a Shootout in Philadelphia at the Vet which it's settle in OT. Good week in Week 6 in 95'.
