I went to MSU and watched a lot of Jayden Reed in his college days. One of the first videos of yours I watched was the 2023 WR rankings and you pointed out his underrated contested catch ability, which no one else nationally seemed to notice at that time. I knew you were a ball knower after that

For that "terrible decision by Geno Smith that he should have just thrown away", he said in his press conference afterward that he was trying to throw it away. Unfortunately, his arm gets hit mid throw and doesn't have the power to get it out of the back of the endzone. You are right that Geno doesn't normally make those throws. This has been the story of Geno Smith this entire season. If you look at PFF, he has more interceptions than turnover worthy plays this year. Nearly every int has been super fluky. He is been getting way too much shit this year. Everyone is parroting "Geno is inconsistent", "This is just who Geno Smith is", or "He has turned back into Jets Geno". He has been dealt such a bad hand. The o-line is going to get him killed before the end of the season.
@thewarhammerguy59955 күн бұрын
Geno is a good QB not a great QB. He’s far from the biggest problem on this team, when you have as shaky an oline foundation as the Seahawks do you’re going to be getting inconsistent play no matter who the QB is. The Seahawks need to stop trotting out these bargain bin offensive lines if they want to be successful.
@AxelMTG5 күн бұрын
@thewarhammerguy5995 The thing is, we don't know how good Geno is because of this o-line. We know his floor is good because he is keeping the team afloat. He has the stats of a top 5 guy when unpressured, which he rarely is.

He's one of those people who will never get the credit they deserve. NFL fans prefer narratives to facts. *Every Single YT content-maker who makes weekly QB assessments has mentioned that* Arthur Smith had been reducing the # of snaps Pickens got - - when _Fields_ was the starter, then also told Fields and Pickens that he was not to be targeted when in, leaving no one downfield for Fields to throw to. *All* of them noticed this. & everyone says Russ "brought back the deep ball to the Steelers." As if Fields is somehow incapable of throwing long. Not at all: Arthur Smith removed all the possibilities/plays *where he **_could have_* had chances _to_ throw long. The Bears' play-calling has improved: yet no one is blaming Caleb for it. But the narrative was "Fields sucks & it has nothing whatever to do with play-calling." Geno is like Fields: he was totally undermined by his play-caller last season, was 4th-lowest in off-target throws but was given Zero Credit for what he did. Kinda like ignoring the fact that being hit while throwing "wasn't seen" by anyone watching the replays.

I'm surprised no one's noticed this yet: what made the Cards' D look capable was recognizing what 'Flus & Co. are doing on offense & covering it. No Short Passes for Caleb. I saw a _beautiful_ imrpovised near shuffle pass to Swift on a broken play in the preseason. & like he's done before Eberflus made moves to remove those from the playbook. Not sure _why_ he's doing this to *Caleb,* but he is. The Bears themselves showed this when too little too late they started throwing nothing but short passes on their last drive. They moved the ball effectively for a while, but not the entire drive. But there are No Short Passes There the rest of the game.

Another note on the baron browning trade! Drew sanders is coming back from the offseason Achilles injury and they’re gonna stick him at Edge. Now Sanders is your 4th edge instead of 5th. Also similar to Browning, Drew Sanders played LB in college so you can ideally get the same positional flexibility that Browning gives you

The seahawks did what they could in the offseason at RT imo and have been screwed by injuries. It's really both guard spots that are ruining us. Also JSN has never been bad. underwhelming? yes but the drop issues earlier in his career were hand injury related. Over 2 games with DK out he has had like over 200 yards, I think in a way he suffers from being so solid at everything, Grubb is still finding a way to use him.

*The #1 reason Matt Eberflus was chosen over Johnson* was that he agreed to carry out Poles' wish to make it look like they needed to move on from Fields. I'm continuously amazed how everyone ignores this despite all the clues. 1) If he didn't run over your dog or SA your grandmother, you as HC should have No Problem Whatever supporting your QB No Matter What. We have 'Flus ob video refusing to shake Fields' hand on the sideline. In front of the Entire Team. May as well have pantsed him. This totally undermines the team, not just Fields. 2) He admitted he meddles in the offensive play-calling after his 2nd-ever game as HC. This was so convincing that not one reporter spoke to Getsy from then on. They only tried asking questions of Eberflus when 3) Fields "suddenly developed" a tendency to stop himself throwing to open receivers. This was So New that at first everyone thought he'd been concussed only the first game he exhibited this in, he did it at least 3 times. & the Bears didn't take him into protocol. Which meant *they **_knew_** he WASN'T concussed.* Without checking. Which meant he was executing the plays As Called. So reporters knew this was a play-call _AND_ that Eberflus was the one to call it. His reactions to being questioned came close to confirming this. 4) After Fields called out the play-calling publicly, it changed for the next 4 weeks. They averaged 31 points under those different plays, under 20 with the previous ones. Then the team Voluntarily Switched Back to the plays they knew produced under 20 points. If you want to take the line that this was all the OC's doing, then Eberflus is mentally challenged or Beyond Inept to not go back to those better plays for over a year. Is that really better than acknowledging it was intentional? I mean the starting QB of a team announced to the world that his Own Coaches are messing with him. & not one person on that team investigated this. What does _that_ tell you? Well now you have a problem: Eberflus has dirt on Poles. The *_ONLY_** reason not to share it **_is if_** having it ensures he's the HC.* He's not going anywhere.
