Hearing you point out that Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson are better than Deandre Swift right now was so healing because it’s objectively true and the media does not mention jt

The Geno journey has taught me that most high profile busts give up on getting better once they settle into the backup tier. Geno has said in interviews he took advantage of his time as a backup and learned from his QB room, pushed himself in the practice room and prepared as if he was the starter. Glad to see it is paying off for him in Seattle.

I just thought about how in between Aaron Rodgers (2005) and Patrick mahomes (2017) Matthew Stafford is the only first ballot hof QB that was drafted besides maybe Cam and ryan but I am a bucs fan so I don't have an unbiased opinion on those two

That endzone stop route you were talking about in KC vs Cincy is like when you call a streak in the redzone in Madden and the guy runs out of space so he just stops for a sec then runs away from the DB and hes wide ass open lmao

I completely agree as a dolphins fan. It was an ugly game relying on BRAND NEW (week 1 signings) letting him down, and the horrible desperation pass for a pick six. Our offensive line regressed a lot, and it shows now. You’ll see us get dominated in the trenches in Seattle this weekend.

As much as as I am a Chiefs hater, I'm a bigger Miles Sanders hater. I'd give Sanders away for free, anything so I don't have to see him manage to make a putrid offense even worse

As a Baltimore fan, I honestly expect them to end up 1-4 or 0-5, depending on the Dallas game. Bills are gonna win, and cincy has two “easy” games to gain momentum

Regarding Eberflus and the Bears, I have to completely disagree that "he's doing his job" because the defense is performing, but the offense isn't. Eberflus, like Robert Saleh, is not the DC. They're head coaches. Even if they have a defensive background, I don't understand this desire to give them a free pass for consistently having bad offenses. They choose their coordinators. They are responsible for the lack of offensive adjustments. We can't simply shurg our shoulders when half the team consistently looks bad under a HC. Look at Dennis Allen. I thought he was beyond done last year. But, he finally moved on from Carmichael, and bought in a young, offensive mind to handle the offense. Obviously, it's early, but you can see the difference. Meanwhile, Eberflus and Saleh went with two old, uninspiring retreads (waldrom and Hackett). And yeah, I get it, Hackett is Rodgers buddy. But it's pretty clear the offensive playcalling is lagging behind most other teams

Honestly, the Raven's entire philosophy since Lamar proved he was a high caliber NFL QB has been "8 Got Us", and that is just not a winning strategy long term. He even mentioned it in a press conference before week 1 in response to a question about him stepping up his vocal leadership. He's clearly tired of that being this team's strategy for in-game situations and team building.

Carr is not a scheme agnostic QB- his best years are when his scheme matches his strengths. He is a Goff/Love/Purdy level QB with the right support.

@@johnshepard313 Patrick Mahomes looked terrible against the Bucs in the super bowl. Blocking is important for all QBs. Geno was terrible in the pocket when the pocket and scheme was terrible.

@@deiveonmartinsen1831 I understand that blocking is important. And very quarterback, if any, do well without protection. But Carr had legit good olines in the last 2-3 years with the Raiders. The pocket presence was still bad, even when he played well. Maybe he's truly fixed it, I can't say either way. But it needs to be better, because even with a good line, he can bail and check down too early

Loved the full Bucs discussion after I feel yourself and almost everyone else just glances over them almost all the time, something to watch for in their games going forward should be Britt and Dennis. The secondary was flying around but so was Dennis, and both of them are filling in a pretty good rotational role as LB 2 so far which was a big question going into the year

Baker is the age you would normally expect a quarterback to reach their prime at, mahomes changed how we thought about qb development but baker is closer to the normal career path for great qbs like matt ryan or matt stafford, brady and manning both took years on years to become elite Brees took years Rodgers took years we really shouldn't have been counting out these qbs like goff and Baker
