As a Lions' fan, I don't care if they end up in second place in the NFC North. What bothers me is that they then become a wild card team with an excellent record and have to travel to a divisional winner with a worse record (and in some seasons, a LOSING record). I wish the NFL would eliminate the divisions and take the top eight teams from each conference... No first round bye. (Let some genius figure out tie-breaks). This would allow an extra team in the playoffs and a better variety of games. You can still have traditional divisional match-ups, but no more playing the same three teams twice. The Lions and Vikings aren't just fighting for a first-round bye and home field advantage, they are fighting to avoid an unfair playoff-positioning system that the NFL allows.🦁

Here's the thing, a large portion of the Lions fanbase is waiting for the sky to fall. The predictions of gloom and doom started one nanosecond after Hutch went down and you still hear it.
