This episode is exactly why I have a love-hate relationship with these two. *Gets done wrapping up the coverage busts by the Browns* Steve: Herbert has looked much better the more healthier he is getting. Sam: Well this game was all about the coverage busts. Steve: Well yes this game, but he’s been playing much better and it started with that loss at Arizona and he played really well last week and played really well in this game. Sam: Yeah, but this game is skewed by the busted coverages. How stupid do you think your viewer is that you have to hit the button on the same argument 4 straight times?

Perhaps the most wild stat: Goff hitting St. Brown 30 times in a row with no incompletions. This is the best and most unstoppable QB/WR combo in football and you're wrong if you disagree.

Derek Carr's record prior to yesterday's game was the same record Matthew Stafford had as the Lions starting QB over his 12 years in Detroit (74-90). Carr has lost to 31 teams which is the new NFL record for QBs while Stafford and Brett Favre are the only QBs in NFL history with at least 30 pick 6's (32 for Favre and 30 for Stafford). Cue the Ray Charles "Born To Lose" classic.

It looked like the Lions play often outdoors and the Packers never do, which is shocking. I think it was three bad snaps, 6 counted drops but it was likely more than that, while the Lions had zero weather related mistakes.

I understood why they felt the need to do something besides a standard penalty on that Brian Branch hit. When i saw it live my reaction was "oh come on dude you did not need to do that, you had plenty of time to either stop or change direction now you're about to be ejected from the game for targeting" like i love Brian Branch. Im a bama fan and i think its awesome how well he's translated to the NFL. He didnt need to do that, it was overly aggressive. Perhaps there should be some sort of middle level between a regular 15 yard flag and an ejection. A 25 yard penalty or something. I don't want to give the refs more penalties to call but its maybe better than a straight up ejection.

Everyone is (rightfully) getting after Love for the pick-six, but let's be honest about how All-Pro-Level that play was by Kerby Joseph and give the man his flowers. Dude is a straight menace to QBs, and he damn near owns Lambeau Field. It was a play that most defenders don't make there in that spot.

I feel like i was the only one who enjoyed sunday night football. I found it to be a pretty decent game. Idk, are we only calling games good when theyre 40+ point shootouts these days? I found it pretty funny towards the end, flacco refusing to take short passes for a 1st down and kept throwing to rhe same spot on the field in double/triole coverage. Then the last play comes, they need a ton of yards and THATS the olay flacco checks down 😂 that was just hilarious to me. He must have got ahold of some of Rogers' peyote or something

I hear you about the hitting in the chest thing, the issue is the defender cannot control where the offensive player is gonna be once he aims for the chest, if I lower my shoulder to go for the chest and then the receiver dips his head how is that avoidable? There isn’t enough time to try to wait and see where the receiver will be to aim for his chest properly🤷🏻♂️

Somehow even in a blowout, there is no credit given and it's because of blown coverages and bc of Browns. Maybe, just maybe, the chargers play good football and Justin Herbert is an elite quarterback. They'll never say that. Makes me mad. Literally a 5-3 team, but all I have heard today is Bengals are a playoff team and Joe Burrow is elite. Like come on, we have a better record than the Bengals and had a tougher matchup.

Pretty good recap an analysis on the Chargers vs Browns game, except a little more flowers need to be given to the Chargers defense, which by no means were at 100%. In fact the 2 cornerbacks were 6th and 7th round rookies, and Bosa still isn’t at full strength. What Mintor is doing with the players on that defense is very impressive to say the least. Also, there are a lot more Chargers fans than you realize, so please stop with the “one fan” narrative. Just like the Rams, the Chargers play in Southern California, which is a very attractive place for their opponents fans to want to come, so we will always see our home stadium filled with fans from the visiting teams.

Darnold can be Josh Allen in the very best and worst ways. And even if his mean is a tick below Josh Allen, that’s still a very good QB. Those picks were on him. 1000%. But he’s good. And he’s a great case study for how QB evaluations are evolving. Not every QB who struggles will turn it around. I don’t think Zach Wilson has the same tools or resiliency as Darnold. But it isn’t like we didn’t see Darnold’s attributes and still labeled him a bust.

@yoinkhaha10 күн бұрын
Some people subconsciously feel they have to do everything “swaggy”… something clicks subconsciously that dude HAS to drop the ball as soon as the TD is clear. Stop glorifying “swag”. A touchdown is a touchdown. It isn’t a more intimidating touchdown if you stare down or step over a guy afterwards. That just makes you look like a dumbass. Do it like Barry - have you been there before? Hand ball to ref. Or Henry…immediately look for teammates to celebrate, and conserve some energy.
