Remember, The Pro Football Hall of Fame changed its criteria. It used to be 75% requirement for induction. Now, it is 80% starting this year.

Apparently the reason for the induction process change back in August was “Current inductees wanted the Hall to be more exclusive” That’s exactly what’s gonna happen to say the least. After 12 consecutive classes with at least 7 inductees, we’d be lucky just to have a class of 5 with the new structure.

If that's your criteria, then only players with long careers are eligible - which is nonsense in a sport in which many players are injured, including head trauma is todays game. Sharpe was arguably the best WR at the time - comparable to Rice and some would argue even better. Career cut short by a neck injury. BTW - Terrell Davis only played for 7 seasons. In fact, there are many players in the HOF with 7 seasons or less.
