There are a lot of comments from Texan fans complaining that the Oilers' uniforms belong to Houston. The Texans have their own identity, and are an expansion franchise from 2002, whereas the Oilers franchise is a distinctly separate franchise that dates back to 1960. They are not the same franchise. Are people ashamed of the Texans and their uniforms? Houston could still have the Oilers if the city had built a stadium for them, but instead decided to let them leave and build one for the expansion Texans.

The Titans were the Oilers. Houston fans hated the Oilers so much back then, that they forced the Oilers out of Houston and relocate. The Oilers relocated to Tennessee where they rebranded as the Titans. Then the Texans came along several years later when the NFL was expanding and adding more teams. Then Texans just so happened to be born in Houston because those same Houston fans forced the Oilers out of Houston leaving them dry without an NFL team anymore. Just because the Texans are in Houston doesn’t make the Oilers uniforms theirs. If an NFL team relocated to Houston, do they get the Oilers uniforms? No. If a team relocated to Tennessee, would they get the Oilers uniforms? No. The Titans literally were the Oilers. Keep crying about it.
