Niner fan here that's such a great point. We failed with Trey Lance and succeeded with Purdy and when you compare their college records its easy to see we should never have drafted Lance despite his athletic abilities. Look at how Bo Nix has developed this season. I think there's 3 major concepts coming out of this season. 1) DO NOT take QBs out of college until they have had the time to mature. If they opt for the draft early then you know its a money decision NOT a playing decision. 2) ALLOW young QBs the time to develop. Green Bay have that system where they get them and put them on the sideline for 3 years. They make it work. 3) If you don't draft at least 1 good O-lineman EVERY YEAR you run the risk of your prize young QB being behind a line that can't protect him. In 2022 the Niners lost 4 QBs with season ending injuries. In the last game (NFC Championship) Purdy finished the game being unable to pass after both he and Dobbs got injured *AND WE DIDN'T DRAFT A SINGLE O-LINEMAN TAHT YEAR.* Sure we had a great 2023, but look at this year and where we are now. FYI - Drafting the best O-Lineman you can get each year is NOT my idea, its John Maddens. I read about it in his book "One Knee equals 2 Feet" over 30 years ago. Somethings never change in football.

Bryce is for sure the guy. If you'd told me after the first two games that he'd be playing with this much confidence I wouldn't have believed it. I remember when he was throwing picks all over the place and could barely score. If he keeps improving at this rate we'll be top of the division in a year or two.

Credit to the panthers the eagles defense played honestly so well. They just got luck and Bryce went beast mode. As a birds fan I’m glad we won but the panthers are looking confident now. Also losing will help them bounce back as a great team next year.
