Had a great career, but what could've been... the neck injury is the obvious one in hindsight that kept his stats lower than they otherwise would've been. But the dude could've had more rings if the universe didn't work the way it does. bob sanders changed the entire game when he was on the field. untimely injuries... freeney and mathis untimely injuries prior to playoffs. things just didn't work out his way a lot. Dude was an absolute tactician on the field though.

My first live game was at a 1998 preseason game where the Colts were visiting Cincinnati. I was only 3 and I can just barely remember small details, but he played in the first ever game I had been able to watch. While I didn't grow up as a Colts fan, I watched this man play for the majority of my life. It was bittersweet to watch him retire and very pulling-at-the-heartstrings to watch this speech.
