I've been a fan of the Patriots for as long as I've known about the NFL, and for all those years there was no opponent that I respected more than Peyton Manning. He brought a level of intellectualism to the game that would alone make him worthy of the Hall of Fame. There is no one better at making in-game adjustments and calling audibles than him, to the point where he could probably have made the playoffs every year without an OC. It fills me with sadness that there will be no more Brady vs. Manning, we have definitely lost an absolute titan of the game.

First and foremost, the line about Demaryrius Thomas. That line truly signifies what kind of a player and human being he really was. Yes, everyone shows appreciation for him now after he’s passed away (and rightfully so). But Peyton was showing appreciation for him years ago. Rest In Peace to a genuine man, a great and unselfish teammate, and a phenomenal football player. Secondly, Peyton Manning. Out of all the players that have stepped onto the football field, the Great 18 will still be who I see as one of the very best (if not best), the most important to his team, and the most unique. That last description is very important because to this day, there is still no player in nfl history that has been quite as unique as Peyton Manning.

I was at that game when Manning returned to Indy as a Bronco. It was phenomenal to witness how much he was loved and respected. Die hard Colts fans and die hard Broncos fans gave him an standing ovation that went on for minute after minute. Manning was usually so stoic but you could tell by his expression how much he enjoyed and appreciated it. That is what I will remember the most about that night and that game. Manning's emotion response and looking around a packed stadium at a sold out game and seeing Colt and Bronco fans together cheering themselves hoarse recognizing and thanking one man who has meant so much to so many. A memory I will never forget. I was so grateful to have the opportunity to go to that game and grateful that my ears finally stopped ringing 3 days later. I think I finally got my voice back around that time as well!

The Broncos were always our #1 and the Bears #1A. In 2013, my older son said he wanted a Manning jersey for Christmas. Sure son, no problem! Well, we had a little bit of fun with him. See, he gets three sets of presents that day, from us, from his grandparents, and for his birthday. We found a #18 Colts jersey at a discounted price, which his grandparents bought and gave to him. Yeah, he was a bit miffed at that. Then, when he opened his birthday presents, he got his #18 Broncos jersey. I only wished they sold the original #18 Frank Tripucka, because I might have tried to sling that past him as well. Ah well, it was good for a laugh.

Another reason is that the US & UK don't like each other, so the US will never name Soccer "America's sport" for as long as they know Soccer is "United Kingdom's sport" & the UK will never make Football their sport either the choice is clear that Football will forever b America's sport

I never was a football fan, I never understood the game, When i moved from Philly to indy i would get annoyed with the locals rooting for Manning that i would just so happen to watch the game and root against manning and the colts to lose. This went on for a few seasons, and Manning would always have a comeback or epic game, while i would be disappointed they won. After a few of these something remarkable began to happen. The man i rooted against... with every impressive play, pass, win, comeback won me over bit by bit, My boos turned to gasps, and without realizing his game captivated me and i found my self rooting and scraeam for Manning to win. I ended up becoming one of his bigget fans off the field and on, I learned how to play football watching his game and studying it. I realized i was more of a Manning fan then a colts fan. When he left indy i was devastated, when he came to the broncos after the 4 neck surgeries i had butterflies in my stomach those first few games and i felt like i was on the line of scrimage as he gave his audibles and calls. Thank you Peyton Manning for being a Role model, giving me somting to root against and for, and teaching me the love of Football.

As a graduate of the University of TN, Knoxville, and a player in the Pride of the Southland marching band, we watched Peyton join UTK, and followed him when he joined the Colts. Every year, we drove from Tennessee to Indianapolis to watch Peyton play "at home". We cheered so hard, voiced always hoarse after the game. When he joined Denver, we immediately switched allegiances and became Broncos fans. We continued, every year, to fly from Tennessee to Denver, to watch Peyton play "at home". We cried at his retirement, but can honestly say that we pray his life continues to be blessed with new experiences, discoveries, and wonders. Enjoy your family, Peyton, the kids will grow up so fast. God bless you and your family, we've loved following you throughout your career. Carry on, fine man, carry on.

Class act. Love that he recognized players and coaches in his speech. He is definitely missed. By far the best game I ever went to was when the Broncos came to Indy - it was Payton's first time back. My friend and i were offered over $900 for our tickets but we said no way! The standing ovation Payton received seemed to go on for hrs and was so loud my ears rang for days. You could tell it touched him. I am very happy that he retired with a second ring. No one deserved it more. Wishing him the best.
@andyc99794 жыл бұрын
It's funny he did because he also saw it the way many of us do as well. I always would think Manning vs Brady or Manning vs urlacher or Manning vs Lewis. I remember bills dolphins games and it was Kelly vs Marino. You get my point but it's so true how it's thought of.
@scubasteve73034 жыл бұрын
I don’t know how he got through that without completely falling apart. Those battles between Manning and Brady were absolutely epic.

Despite our division rivalry, Peyton is widely respected among the Raider Nation
@theorangesomnie74688 жыл бұрын
Some players can transcend even division rivalries. You can hate them but still respect the hell out of em. Your guy Woodson was one of them. Would never utter a bad word about him.
@GrassValleyGreg8 жыл бұрын
Yes, Woodson (a rare HoF DB) and even career Raiders like Art Shell, Tim Brown, Fred Biletnikoff and the original "Snake" Ken Stabler- It actually kind of angered me that Stabler didn't live to see his HoF induction. I hate the team, but love the guys. Tim Brown actually came within a split hair of being a Bronco in the mid 90s- but undrafted Rod Smith wound up working out pretty well lol. Would've loved to have had Tim Brown in an alternate universe. I have always revered Raider Nation- I'm glad the rivalry will be competitive once again. This current Broncos defense kind of reeks of Jack Tatum, does it not?

Dan King after the Super Bowl I will agree Brady is the greatest. But Peyton always gave Brady a fight. I think Peyton has the edge over Brady in AFC Championship wins.
@gridlock29587 жыл бұрын
A large part of the reason why Peyton only had 2 rings was due to the Colts having one of the worst defenses in the league. Going to the Broncos and having people like Champ Bailey and Von Millar was a game changer
@solemn-man31706 жыл бұрын
Only has two rings ?!?!?!?!? How many rings do you want a guy whose played for two different teams and six different head coaches to win. Hes the only qb on the planet to have won championships that way. Theres no question hes the goat. Brady had bill his whole career and played for one team.

I remember watching super bowl 48 and watching how Seahawks defense hit Peyton vs how they hit his receivers. It was clear to me that they were going very easy on how they hit Peyton, but slammed his receivers. Knowing how much Russel has learned from Peyton and how much he admired him growing up, I suspect he asked his defense to take it easy on Peyton when they got to him.
@smithfan228 жыл бұрын

Brady's great, but I don't think he's the best. Lots of great QBs never won a SB. Also ran backups did win. It's more complicated than just wins. The QB is one guy. Lots has to go right to win a SB. You could do everything right and still lose, because some things are out of your control. I prefer to wait until the career is over before evaluating a player's performance, in totality. People don't even consider Baugh, Graham, or even Unitas anymore.
