It was actually one week later. If you remember, the 9/11 attacks caused the NFL to move week two to September 23rd, instead of it being on September 16th. Due to that, the Conference Championship Games were played on January 27th, 2002, and thus, the first ever Super Bowl in February happened one week later. However, for a bit, it had been a two week thing. But again, due to the 9/11 attacks, the Super Bowl was played one week after the Conference Championship Games instead of two. Also, Super Bowl XXXVII was played one week after the Conference Championship. Hope that clears up any confusion.

Out of the four conference championship games the Eagles lost in the 2000's, this one was by far the least painful for them, and their fans. That considering they played a very good game against a team who few expected them to win against, while they were just beginning to become one of the NFL elites in 2001. That while they were heavy favorites when they lost to the Bucs, Panthers, and Cardinals as time went on. Even them losing Super Bowl 39 was much worse (despite them finally getting there that season), as they easily could have won that game, if McNabb didn't once again choke during crunch time, as he always found a way to do when it mattered most.

It is so funny, I remember Yo Murphy when he was a Scottish Claymore of NFL Europe and a member of the Las Vegas Outlaws of the XFL before he even played in the NFL. I don't know why that sticks in my mind.
@deanladue23276 жыл бұрын
I remember when he played exactly 1 game for the Minnesota Vikings in 1999. It was a Monday night game against the Buccaneers, in the 4th QTR he fumbled (?) a punt and the Buccaneers scored the go-ahead and game winning TD. The Vikings released him the next day.

That first TD pass at 5:32 was from Kurt Warner to Isaac Bruce and not Troy Vincent.
@jpowers558 жыл бұрын
Mr. Brown Who does that? You're supposed to say who the QB threw the pass to.
@jarretberenson12148 жыл бұрын
jpowers55 He said they three at Troy Vincent because he was injured. They liked that matchup, so they threw to Vincent's assignment

They were actually very good for much of that decade. Only in 2005 with the T.O. drama, and the numerous injuries the team had were the Eagles ever truly "bad" back then. The 2010's also had more good for them than not, with finally winning the big game in 2017/2018 at last too.
