It's obvious that you "fans" of football Have zero knowledge about how football players are. Football is a game of power, and what emotion gives us that little push over the top? ANGER! Incognito was told by Miami to toughen up Martin, so he did it with anger. And that's how players talk anyway. In my 3 years as an O-lineman/Fullback (2 years in high school 1 year in college) I can say that IS how football players communicate. It seems harsh, but this is a barbaric sport.

As someone who played oline in college, i heard so much worst. Bully and Ball busting are completely different i have a feeling matin wanted out, he realized he lost his position, had a mental break, was in breach of contract and lawyers got involved. Those same guys that busted your balls would take a knife for you,(i would have said bullet but haven't seen it, i did see a fellow lineman get in-between a knife) the stories any one could tell, oline/hogs tend to ruin thick but anyone who's lived that life understands it. It's like trying to explain colors to a blind person. its a different world but in the end your all family.

this isn't too far fetched, locker rooms or any work place where there is a unisex environment is a lot more vulgar than people want to believe...(all women workplace can be just as bad) I am a firefighter paramedic and some of the conversations and back and forth that go on at the station would raise a lot of eye brows too, BUT none of the brothers at my station would ever call and say or txt they were going to murder my family, F*** my sister w/o a condem or any of the crazy stuff they have done to each other.... where's the love or support in that? We all give each other a hard time, joke around but it is at a much more reasonable level, I also understand that there are probably 32 different levels of this type of thing in the NFL, with the teams that have better leadership not being as extreme or inappropriate. My verdict; Martin- He broke the code, plain and simple, this should have been delt with in house. He is a big boy, he opened the door of the nfl locker room to the public when he should have had a talk with his co-worker. there is a way to handle this correctly...talk to ritchie, then if need be talk to Philbin, then if need be talk to Ireland, then if still no change talk to agent and demand trade or retire from football Incognito- this is a meat head of a guy that got too comfortable in his surroundings and never thought about the line that he was crossing on a daily basis (not that he was alone) but he obviously took it too far and never thought in a year and a half to ask martin if they were cool and if he knew this was all just a joke...I don't think he is a racist, just a dummie.

Martin should have man'd the fucc up & swung on him or something. & its not like an O line against a Punter (that's reasonably understandable) but they r both big ass hell & can't be soft in that position no wonder Y Tannehill get blasted every game lol. That whole racial border can be crossed at times during interracial friendships but if u feel certain type about stand up 4 yourself got damn. Its clearly Martin has problems beyond the loccer room but is 2 embarrassed 2 talk about it or using Richie as a patsy 2 mask his real issues. Richie clearly is a bully a self admitted locker room cancer and bull shit artist especially in this interview. If he isn't perfect as he says and still growing (go figure that!) the Dolphins should have been more on top of him and the possibilities of this clown screwing up especially after the team golf thing happened. Dumb ass Dolphins management. I hope they are held accountable. This guy Richie needs help and doesn't belong in the NFL. Toughness and skill aside. This screams ethics period !

He seems very sincere. This was probably an issue of alcohol induced stupidity and they are just a bunch of meatheads... and not necessarily in a bad way, they are just meatheads. Martin looks to have issues with connecting with the guys or expressing himself and Incognito obviously has trouble discerning when he has gone too far. It is just a shame they can't all get together, move on, and go back to being knuckleheads. One thing I do know is Ireland and Philbin's days are numbered.

I don't understand this situation. People outside of the world of football not being able to see that this regular day stuff has been sensationalized for the sake of vilifying one man who behaves the way everyone around him has from the day he started playing football. This is something that is apart of football and is WRONG. It is of course unacceptable behavior that should be addressed so that all types of people can be accepted into the ranks of professional athletics. Racism should not be acceptable just because it is in a hostile, male dominated, testosterone driven area of humanity. But, can we not act surprised and freak out when we find it? Can we just handle it instead of THIS bullshit?

put it like this, and this goes back to riley cooper, im a black man, and im not a racist, and if i had an situation where i got into a verbal or physical altercation with a white man, and im talking about that situation after it has happened, u best believe that i would call him every name i could think of in the book to hurt him bc i am MAD at that point, doesnt mean im a racist, im just pissed off at that point and i dnt care wat i say bc im heated, and ppl need to understand that, theres just blatant racism and theres wanting to hurt a person that has hurt you, so sometimes we say things to hurt ppl, dnt mean its true, and with ritchie, hes says thats the way they talk, i have some friends thats of a different race, and if u could see some of the shit we text each other u would say WTF. moral of this story is, cut ritchie sum slack,,,has he been a dick YES, has he payed dirty YES, is he a loose cannon at times YES, but to have this end his career is not fair

I get so sick of this bullying bs. Dam world is getting soft and is destroying itself. Kids grow up never losing never having to work for anything. I know not all kids but the majority. Seems Martin might have been trying to retire early. But if words someone says hurt you feeling then maybe you should reevaluate yourself as a person. Because they are probably true. Everyone in this kindergarten world crying racism or saying this is racist or thats racist. The world needs to grow up.

Think this type of behavior IS bullying in the sense that if the person receiving the treatment sees it as such, then it is. Having said that, I can't believe someone tough enough to play one of the most violent sports, would consider this bullying. We say worse things than that text at work EVERYDAY and I for sure am not working in a locker room.

As a black woman I feel that this man is not the only person to blame. He felt that the words he used were ok because his black teammates have said that they consider him to be an 'honorary black man'. so to his teammates him using certain words does not bother them. The problem is that not every African American is comfortable with or uses that word. However, if what he is saying in this interview is true my question to the other guy involved is why the f*ck are you playing along with him at times. If it offends you don't entertain it. geesh!

This is another incident that will most likely change the NFL. Less hitting, less celebration, more political correctness, more sterile game. Unfortunately, Jonathan Martin was certainly under stress and duress. I am sure that he was stressed because he was not panning out as a highly drafted O-Lineman. That stress, coupled with a an NFL environment of Alpha males, who communicate in a vulgar manner was probably difficult for him. However, the manner in which Martin's exit took place looks to me like an orchestrated event in a harassment lawsuit. Both of his parents are Harvard educated, and his mother is a corporate attorney. So, you get your client to wait for another incident, make a statement in his/her exit, and go into the silent mode with top level legal representation. If this is all about a lawsuit and money, then I believe this thing was orchestrated for money b a desperate player. If there is no lawsuit, and this is about a player making a statement about changing the NFL locker room culture, then I will be more open minded. I tend to listen to the other players in that locker room, black and white. If, as other players state, Martin also acted and texted vulgarities and participated in hazing incidents, that could damning for him. I don't believe all of the facts have surfaced, and I don't think we should all rush to judgment.

incognito is an easy target because of his past... but seriously 90% of people will never understand the way in which warriors communicate with each other... yes this is football but just like real military people they lay they lives on the line every time they step on the field and frame of mine is raw and so are the jokes... Its a mindset of cultivated chaos... "raw and intense for some just another day for a few"
