From Utah, big Raiders fan. Would love an NFL team here. Ask any Jazz players, we love our sports and my father follows players (not teams) so every week he’s cheering for an awesome Poly player or a Utah State alumnus (Love, Bobby Wagner, etc) would love to have a pro team here. Alcohol is legal (gambling is not, not a big deal), we support our teams. Mike Trout played minor league baseball here, so we all love him. Also whenever my younger brother (doesn’t follow NFL) goes somewhere dicey he texts me and says “lots of Raiders fans here… call your people and tell them I’m good.” Ha ha ha ha. Richie has it dead on. Just a nasty, nasty group of unaffiliated people united by our love of football and being salty and tough. Freaking love Incognito and his play. He was a Raider no matter where he went. Great episode! Watched till the credits! (Also a big Sox fan and I remember that Mariano game, pure class out of Boston. In 1995 Oakland approved a $200 million bond to renovate the Coliseum to get the Raiders back from Los Angeles. They still owed ~$80‐95 (varying numbers reported) million as reported b/t 2015-2017. It's set to be paid off by 2026 (< 3-years remain). They weren't able to make money w/ season ticket sales as anticipated & the field changeover for the A's actually cost them to lose money (but seems they thought the A's would stick around) on Raiders games. [Only ~10 home games per year for football vs. 81 home games per year for baseball.] The Raiders wanted another $400 million from the city of Oakland/Alameda County. Then-Mayor Libby Schaaf wasn't going to spend money for it, especially when the SF Giants 'new AT&T ballpark was privately funded, similarly the Warriors' new Chase Center in SF was privately funded as well. Had they predicted the A's leaving & the situation w/ the Hegenberger/International corridor, she might have approached it differently, but Oakland was hit hard by the Great Recession of 2007-2009.
