Not all NFL jobs are equal. The biggest difference is Johnson knows not to chase money. My biggest worry for the Lions is a playoff team firing their head coach because expectations were not met. He's not leaving for the Jets, Giants, or any other team with crap ownership.

I disagree with you guys about Ben Johnson’s choice of teams. What will be more important to Ben (and he has said this at different times in Detroit) is the owner and GM that he will be working with. Ben values relationships and collaboration. If he doesn’t respect who he would be working for, he won’t take the job. I honestly don’t know enough about most other owners to judge them in this respect, but I don’t think that Carolina (I know, not an option now, but why he turned them down before), Chicago, or Dallas would be suitable for him. Just my opinion as a long time Lions fan.

I remember 98 like it was yesterday as well, the Vikings had the highest scoring offense in the history of the NFL at the time, the best kicker who hadn't missed all year, how did that work out for us fans? 8-2 is still 8-2. Without Tom Brady, Belichick is an NFL head coach with an under .500 winning percentage. And if he's so good, how is it New England became one of the very worst teams in the league while he was there? At the end, the Pats were a mess - and they're still trying to recover. BB wasn't asked to vacate New England for no good reason.
@RedWingsninetyone

They both made each other better. Brady was ok at Michigan and there was a reason he wasn't picked high. Brady doesn't become the QB he was without Belichick's assistance and development.
@puppethound

@@RedWingsninetyone no, he wasn't the athlete scouts wanted to see, the same scouts that thought the "Brady Six" was better than him. Oh and um Brady was good at Michigan. Brady left and took an average Buccs team to the SB while Belichick's Pats fell apart until he was asked politely to step down to avoid being fired.
@RedWingsninetyone
@RedWingsninetyone 7 сағат бұрын
@@puppethound correct, that's how that works. Brady was still a 6th round pick and needed to develop for a few years. He was lightly regarded even before the combine. Bears lost the game, Packers did not win it. Really cruddy coaching the last minute of the game.

Nah, the Packers did their best to gift wrap the game for the Bears. Chicago just couldn't take it

This is the year for the Lions, i do not want to see MCDC/ Holmes holding off on replacing injured players because they dont want to throw away future picks or anything, this is now, next year they likely cant compete to keep the coordinators nor have enough to pay everyone what they're worth.

😂😂 the fact that Chris Simms sits there and talks all this crap about Jared Goff is absolutely laughable..... Why don't you compare Chris Simms entire 5 year career compared to Jared goff's rookie and second year in the NFL... Chris Simms is a joke, and you have no right to talk about GOFF. The way he does.
