I think it would be a good deal to trade number 10 overall + a day 2 pick in this years draft + next years 2nd round pick + 1 or 2 “starter” caliber players (Deandre Swift, Braxton Jones or Demarcus Walker for example). It’s a lot for a DLineman who is 29 years old, but just the thought of Sweat and Garrett on a Dennis Allen Defence makes it worth it for me. Now go spend that money on someone like Trey Smith for the O Line and you’re good to go 👍🏻
@tvtda14 сағат бұрын
@@luizantonioalmeida6893 The thing thats weird is for me being from cleveland, thats not a lot because of this draft and its a weird conversation where, (they probably won't do this) but i would want the 1st round pick deferred to another year. i wouldn't have interest in a 1st in this season. which chart wise would make the deal cheaper but if you use the context that the draft class will be better a season from now you really just defer the pick value to next season if ur a team like chicago. if the browns were to trade garrett they would have the 1st overall pick next year, so lets say i deferr the 1st to the year after that. value wise thats really cheap. but if the prospects improve as projected is that really a lot? for a top 10-20 NFL player? if you were a browns fan you'd think this wasn't enough i feel like....
@luizantonioalmeida68934 сағат бұрын
@ i understand your point, it’s totally fair (it only takes one team to go crazy and offer something like 3 first round picks and a pro bowl caliber player, something like that), but the Bears pick is is the top 10, that’s something worth considering. It may be possible to choose the among these O-Line prospects which one do they like, maybe get someone like McMillan if you get a QB, or even get Shedeur if he falls, i don know. If this drags for some time i feel like they would have to do a deal like this, where they get a “decent” return but fans are probably upset, my understanding is that Garrett has a lot of leverage in this situation. And also, if the Bears are good (as fans expect them to be), the first round picks on the next couple of years could be somewhere in the 20-30 range, but this year they are one of the few teams that could offer a for sure top ten selection (+ satisfying Garrett desire to compete). They also have 2 second round picks, and one of them could be needed to get the deal done.

Quick question, where/how did you guys learn how to scout?? Following the draft has always been a fun hobby for me but I’m trying to learn how to do my own scouting and develop my own assessments (instead of just listening to the opinion of others). Did someone teach you guys? Is there some specific way to learn scouting? Is there like a proper way to go about doing this or some specific process to follow? Any advice would be super helpful

They were taught by PFF. If you know who "TFG" is, he's a KZbinr that also learned initially from PFF. I'm pretty sure you can look up employment on their website, but it seems you want to go your own route (which is great). I do it mostly in passing now, but in my experience; watch 3 games for any given prospect, against the closest thing they've played to NFL caliber competition. Make a grading scale (5-1, F-A+, etc.) What's your background, as it pertains to football?
@LiamMoore-oz1cr5 сағат бұрын
@@zackhurwitz9441 PFF doesn’t teach scouting, they teach data collections. There is several different processes that are taught to collect data for various position groups. It’s the groundwork for the overall grading system, but it’s not scouting. It probably helps, but it’s a very different thing
@TampaBayTre4 сағат бұрын
Great question we get asked a lot! The honest answer for me is I learned from curiosity. I love the game, and any time I had a question about why a player was good or what makes a great player at certain positions, I would search articles and KZbin coaching clinics. I have followed a lot of very smart football analysts on social media for the better part of 10 years (Coach Vass, Brett Kollman, Dane Brugler, Lance Zierlein, Daniel Jeremiah, J.T. O'Sullivan, Brandon Thorn, Jon Ledyard, Ben Solak, Kyle Crabbs, Joe Marino, Dan Casey, and just so many more). I'll watch Nick Saban coaching clinics on what makes a good corner, Rex Ryan's defensive line clinics, Jim McNally for offensive line; basically anytime I have a question I try to find a coaching clinic of a coach breaking down why it works, terminology and techniques they use, etc. Once you understand the "why" of the game, it gives you the confidence to notice things you personally like most in certain players or fits for certain teams. That allows you to scout from your own lens. My scouting process evolves every year as I continue to watch more clinics and read more great work of X's and O's guys, and that's what makes this job so much fun. There's a lot of resources out there

The team was also ravaged by injuries last season. They are also loaded with picks this year and have a healthy CAP. Here they can trade 2025 1st (11), 3rd, and 2026 1st. They can also add Deebo or Leonard Floyd. Nick Bosa and Miles tandem. Boom! Honestly Browns should just rebuild this team from the studs and just accumulate picks with their cap issues.
