@@gringostarr9935 Charles has the best YPC in the history of the NFL. That's not something to be scoffed at. On top of that he was a damn good receiver not just out of the backfield either. He didn’t have the longevity to be a HOF. he is stupid talented I completely agree some of the stuff he did in his prime was top tier. His injuries killed something great unfortunately that takes away from his stats and his career. No way the guys that vote will vote him in. I don’t see how he could deserve the honor he hasn’t been one of the best 500 or so players to ever play in the nfl. He had a great few years making him all pro at best

Port Arthur toughness. I remember reading in The Port Arthur News in 2004, his senior year in high school, that Jamaal promised a 300 yard game against Midland Lee, and this was his first game back from summer shoulder surgery. I was thinking, "Are you sure you want to put that in print, Jamaal?" But then, he did it: 371 yards on 49 carries! That's when I really knew his heart. I've been around football for a long time. Jamaal Charles is one of the greatest backs of all time. He could do it all.

I watched Jamaal his whole career. He made it look so effortless almost like he was gliding out there on the field. The highlight big plays are amazing but I was also always impressed with his yards per carry average. He wasn't a barry sanders type who'd get 15 carries for 113 where one run got him 80 of those yards. For Jamaal he almost always churned out intermediate positive gains. When it was the 3rd quarter he would have 100 yards on 14 carries and it was largely his ability to slip away from a tackle and turn a -2 into a plus 6 or 7 which he would do over and over and over and over again.

This man was SCARY when you faced the chiefs during those days! He ran crazy man. Such a unique RB. True dual threat.

I'm a Chiefs fan and I remember going to the playoff game against the Ravens with some friends who were Ravens fans that year the Chiefs had Thomas Jones and Jamaal. I told them, "Every time we give the ball to Thomas Jones instead of Jamaal Charles, that's a gift for you guys."

So true, it’s sad how much he was under utilized until Andy Reid came to KC.

If Charles was on the Legion of Zoom the average 40 time for the Chiefs skill positions would be sub 4.4. INSANITY

Holmes and Charles full power and health would be in my eyes the scariest backfield that could happen. Very underrated cut short careers.

One of my favorite Chiefs ever That unbelievable acceleration & effortless 'extra gear' speed. Underrated toughness. I vividly remember the near 300 yd coming out party in Denver (at the end of a forgettable season). That endzone dance 🤣🤣🤣 That reception game against the Raiders!!! Too bad about the seasons lost to injuries. I do wish he had more time to play for coach Ried. KC 💛 YOU JC#25. It was hard to see him suit up in a Broncos uniform, but the man wrote a thank you letter to KC on his way out that was printed in the Star. Class act. Thanks for all your hard work & for the great memories. Edit: 👍🔥💯🔥👍
