I can't agree. Simply bc one stated above named Patrick Peterson just like Revis made a mockery of WRs in his prime ALTHOUGH I will say this, his prime was a lot shorter than Revis's time. That I will not debate. And now in today's NFL there's a pretty solid CB who travels with EVERY receiver regardless of what side he's on called Jalen Ramsey. Revis made Rex's defense work so well. It's underrated how effective it was during that era to remove 1 receiver from the game...especially since a lot of offenses depended on that primary, go-to receiver. The rest of your Defense can either roll coverage to the other 2 or 3 receivers, or you can overload one side with the blitz and get to the QB cause his first read is eliminated by Revis.

Fun Fact: when Chris Henry got injured, and died a few weeks later, Carson Palmer’s passing accuracy went down the drain towards the end of the season for the Bengals, and the Jets were always a problem for Cincy historically based on playbook vs playbook and how structured those GOOD year Jets teams are when all the players coaches and coordinators are in sync. Back to Chris Henry, as the Bengals went on that run to clinch a playoff spot, Henry Died, and he was a factor in the slot because of being able to rip catch bullet passes, which was great for Palmer since he’d throw so fast it would bounce off the receiver’s chest, and Henry was the only receiver on the team that had that intangible (Chad always had hands on the deep but OC Bratkowski never had the right plays designed for him when the routes going towards the middle, that was Henry’s specialty and Cincy’s play design. Laveranues Coles was a Bengal turned a former Jet, so the Jets already had a scout report on him. Revis was on his manifesto though, and I personally believe that if the Bengals were a full team down the stretch of that season, they might’ve given the Jets a chance, and Chad might’ve gotten a lot better looks those two games vs Revis Island the Jets if the slot had Henry.

Arguably the best CB season in league history. Went up against a bunch of borderline to HOF WRs and put the clamps on all of them them. On top of that, broke up and intercepted a bunch of passes too. That Jets D was great overall but he was the key. It wasn’t t until he was the Pats that I really appreciated his greatness. There hasn’t been a better CB in the league since he retired. Hope Throwback does more videos like of individually great CB seasons: Rod Woodson ‘93 Deion Sanders ‘94 Champ Bailey ‘’06

Honestly this is one of the greatest individual seasons a corner has ever had and not only did he not win DPOY but he was beaten out by another defensive back for the award.

As a die hard Jets fan, I approve of this message. I bet every WR refused to go on vacay or even board a plane fearing being stranded on Revis Island. I have hella Jets apparel but only ONE number is on my back - the greatest to do it - Number #24.
