If I'm Frank Reich, and I ever get a big lead on Tom Brady, I would make sure I dont go up by 32 or more. How devastating would it be to lose your comeback record while coaching the losing team?
@JohnGoetzGaming3 жыл бұрын
In both games they were facing sub par defenses. So while the offense scored a lot they were supposed to. The far more impressive feat is the Patriots D completely stuffing opposing offenses that were the strength of the team they were facing. The falcons offense and this denver D are two of the greatest ever judging by their seasons of work and the Patriots D completely shut down the falcons in the second half (remember a brady pick 6 gave them 7 of that lead so the D held them to 3 good drives) and in this game the Patriots turnovers resulted in either defensive tds or easy scores on a short field. So in both games I'd say brady is partially responsible for the hole and in both games I was far more impressed by his defense playing way better than they were supposed to and getting the other D tired by not letting them rest at all
@HugoStiglitz883 жыл бұрын
@@JohnGoetzGaming it's because Brady keeping his defense off the field gives them rest while exhausting the opposing defense. That's why comebacks like this can happen. Its why momentum can swing so drastically. Also, Brady is the GOAT and he plays better when under pressure
@JohnGoetzGaming3 жыл бұрын
@@HugoStiglitz88 Not always. He fumbled the game away against philly at the end, threw an int against indy in 07 at the end, couldn't get them a field goal against the Giants at the end or a touchdown the other time. There are numerous examples of him not being better under pressure and his defense getting the other team off the field fast resulting in theirs getting tired explains most of his comebacks

As a lifelong diehard Pats fan who grew up in Boston, it hasn’t set in yet! I’ve been watching the Pats religiously since Drew Bledsoe’s rookie year in ‘93. In fact the only games I missed where the entire ‘08 season when he was hurt because I was deployed and about half of the ‘09 season because I volunteered to deploy again. I would say since ‘93 I’ve probably missed 50 games total and many of those where during my 7 years in the military which included being stationed in Alaska for 3 years where it was hard to watch them live. When Tom took over I was actually relieved but of course NO ONE (outside of the 🐐 himself) could’ve predicted what he would go one to become and what he would mean to not just the NFL but the entire sports world. He transcends not just football but life in general. There will NEVER be another like him, HE WAS TRULY A ONCE IN A LIFETIME PLAYER…..AND HE IS THE G.O.A.T!!! People give reasons not to accept Brady's greatness...'Oh he had the best defense, ohh he had the best tight end, Oh he joined a stacked team etc...' well many other QB's have had stacked teams and what did they achieve ? Not much.. This guy has 7 rings and people still question his greatness. He won a superbowl with the Bucs team and after he retired the same Bucs team (the core is still the same Evans, Godwin, White, Carlton Davis, Dean, Barrett, Otton, Vita Vae etc..) and they sturggling to reach play-offs since he left !!
@cherisseharris5709 ай бұрын
People just don't want to admit how great brady actually was! It sinks in for me that we will NEVER see another tom brady ever again. Then brady left the Patriots after 20 years and joined the buccaneers. In that first year with a brand new team, teammates and coaches he led his team to the superbowl. Brady and the bucs defeated mahomes and the chiefs in the bucs own stadium! That right there has never happened before. I hate how people say mahomes is the goat which is like comparing an apple to an orange. Mahomes can pass brady's records yet brady will still be the official 🐐 Go ahead and find me a qb picked super late in the draft today like brady was who is out there winning superbowls today. PS Purdy was picked late in the 7th round but he is NOT on brady's level! mahomes was already good when he was picked it the first round of the draft. Brady on the other hand was picked late in the 6 round of the draft! Who would have thought a 6th round pick would have gone on to appear in 10 suberbowls winning 7 rings! There was a 10 year gap in between brady winning superbowls. In that 10 years ALL of his competition was in the superbowl winning rings! Mahomes only true competition retired when brady called it quits! Brady had to play much tougher defenses and he had to go through both Manning brothers, brees, Rodgers and big ben! Brady has 7 rings, both Manning brothers & Ben have 2 rings, and brees and Rodgers has 1 ring! Mahomes rivalries all have ZERO rings. Josh allen, jalen hurts, Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow is not the same rivalry compared to when the nfl had Brady vs Peyton! I can only imagine if brady played in this soft new generation of football he would probably have himself more than 15 rings. Until mahomes has any competition like brady it will be a cake walk to the superbowl every year for him! In the playoffs, however, Mahomes was 0-2 against Brady, losing to him in the AFC championship game in 2019 and again in the Super Bowl in 2021. Remember when brady sent mahomes home crying because mahomes lost that AFC championship game that was the time 😂😂. Crazy to think Brady only got better as he got older! In the end Brady owns mahomes in the big games!!

The fans also constantly booed him even though he was throwing to practice squad guys. Brady had a right to be pissed and leave for weapons - NOT a payday - in Tampa.

I don’t see Lamar as a rival to Mahomes as Brady was to Manning. Steve Young once said the job of the quarterback is to stand in the pocket, deliver the ball on time and accurately. That’s the job and running will work for a little, but you have to do the job to succeed. That’s why I don’t see Lamar as a equal to Mahomes yet. A great QB uses their athletic ability to augment their passing like Young, Rodgers and Mahomes. Not the other way around. Lamar is the other way around. I could almost see Josh Allen as more of a rival to Mahomes compared to Jackson. I look forward to that game later this year.
@mshat184 жыл бұрын
I actually agree. I think josh Allen will wind up better than Lamar which sucks to say cause I’m a pats fan. But the league is definitely pushing mahomes-Lamar.
@jitbrady71584 жыл бұрын
Trace Chmielewski Times have changed, Lamars running augmented his passing 10 fold last year, dude threw 36 touchdowns, and the job of the QB is to win. I’m not a Ravens fan by any means but to say Lamar ain’t a great QB just cause how he plays is ludicrous.
@tempest200004 жыл бұрын
@@jitbrady7158 But here’s the thing. Look back at the most famous “running” QBs. They didn’t win Super Bowls. Randall Cunningham was the first of this breed of running QB. In his time in Philadelphia, he won 1 playoff game and then got smoked by the Cowboys that next game. He reinvents himself as a regular QB in 98, leads Minnesota to the NFC Championship game and he won the league MVP. Look at Micheal Vick. He won two playoff games (one against a Packers team that rested starters so that gives that game an asterisks to me) and that’s all he did in Atlanta. He then goes to Philadelphia and reinvents himself as a passer. I mean I remember some absolutely perfect passes from Vick as an Eagle. If he had played that way his whole career, he would have been a Hofer. The running QB phase only works for so long. Even guys like Roger Staubach and Fran Tarkenton knew that running worked best as a augmentation to the pass, not a replacement to it. Jackson is literally running the same offense that Colin Kaepernick ran in San Francisco. I’m not joking they literally have the same OC that the 9ers had from 11-14. And it looks the exact same to me. Tons of read option, RPOs and QB runs. Jackson is definitely a better athlete than Kaepernick was but if he doesn’t start dropping back and throwing more, he will be figured out. He did say he’s trying to learn and make an effort to become more of a passer so if he does, he will be successful for a long time. If he doesn’t, he will only go as far as his legs will take him.
@ChefofWar333 жыл бұрын

As legendary as Manning was this year, and as much fun as it is to think of it as QB vs QB, he hardly figured into this matchup. This game was more a testament to Belichick and superior game planning, especially seeing how it overcame not just Denver but the Patriots shooting themselves in the foot several times during the game. The Broncos brought back Alex Gibbs and some of his zone blocking disciples, and were probably fairly proud of their running game. So New England gave them soft fronts in passing situations and begged them to run it. They did. Knowshon Moreno had a career game of nearly 300 yards, which meant Denver's hall of fame QB wasn't passing the ball nearly as much. I think he had about 120 yards and 1 INT. In the end, it worked out for the Patriots.
