damn, Cajuste's story about his dad telling him he only had 5 years left but him still being there really hit me. same thing happened with my dad, had a triple bypass open heart surgery two months after i was born and was given 10 years to live after that surgery. they told me when i was 10 years old to be prepared for the worst, but 25 years later after the surgery he is still alive and kicking it!

As a Bengals fan, I remember back in the 2016 draft how much we needed a WR and I was disappointed that we didn’t get Coleman, Treadwell, Doctson, Fuller……and then we got Tyler Boyd in the 2nd round. Seemed to worked out considering the other receivers’ careers.

I looked up Devon Cajuste's Wikipedia page and the last paragraph says: "On January 31, 2018, Cajuste signed a reserve/future contract with the Cleveland Browns. Cajuste quickly became a star on Hard Knocks. Fan support for Cajuste became known after sharing a story about his father and the ups and downs they overcame to make his NFL career a reality. Cajuste was waived by the Browns on September 1, 2018 during roster cutdowns. On January 31, 2019, Cajuste announced his retirement from the NFL to pursue spiritual healing and his passion for crystals."

Gators alum/fan here: Antonio Callaway was the single biggest waste of talent who ever came through the University of Florida. UF gave him every chance to make amends and fix himself and he just couldn’t do it. They even let him participate at the UF Pro Day AFTER he got dismissed from the team. He goes to the Browns and he’s fat and out of shape and still puts up 500+ yards and 5 TDs on a garbage team. Just imagine what he could’ve done if he applied himself and wasn’t an idiot. Could’ve been a star but just couldn’t get out of his own way.

The entire staff during that Browns team... if you look up their wikipedias. Not one of them turned out to be a decent HC. All great coordinators/position coaches, but none last more than 3 yrs as a head coach at a team, and none of them ever had a winning season. NFL owners don't care if you're black, white, hispanic, asian, purple, blue, green, whatever. If you win games, and you're not a total a-hole, you'll make a bajillion dollars a year.

Devon Cajuste would never make a final roster and would stay in the Browns practice squad until the end of the season. He then announced his retirement to pursue his passion of crystals and spiritual healing. Callaway meanwhile is a free agent. After the Browns he left the NFL and played for the Tampa Bay Vipers in the rebooted XFL. He would return to the big league as a member of the Dolphins in 2020. He then signed a futures contract with the Chiefs last season before he was cut with an injury designation.

Hue Jackson wasn’t a bad coach he was a bad leader for his coaching staff . He helped turn the mentality in that locker room don’t get that confused. But You hired these assistant coaches for a reason and if he actually respected their opinions instead of blowing it off he would’ve lasted to see the browns make the playoffs. What Todd Haley said in the coaches meeting was Reiterated by Jarvis Landry who immediately became a leader in the locker room. I think Hue was trying to be a players coach but failed to realize things his assistants are saying are probably things his players came to him saying and the assistant coach said I’ll talk to the head coach about it. Idk I just think Hue Jackson is an easy target for everyone when the real issue for the browns are the front office
@mikeheffner6817
@mikeheffner6817 2 жыл бұрын
You obviously didn’t watch the man coach his years in Cleveland. His play calling is what got him canned, on top of all the leadership issues. There’s a reason the browns started to win immediately after him and Haley were fired. And plus you can’t feel bad that bad for a guy who was given three seasons to show some type of improvement. Most coaches in his situation get fired sooner than that.

@@afmartin2734 Baker was a fine pick. You cannot have zero continuity and consistency and expect a QB to thrive. It's likely that his true ceiling was OC but he really saw himself as a HC. I heard he really played workplace politics and I'm just guessing that his house of cards ended up falling on him just as much as it did his competition

Corey had NO CHANCE. Cutting him was pre-determine🤦🏾‍♂️…where is Corey now? He was actually a great WR playing for a team that brought out the WORST In players, especially during that Browns era.

Players who aren’t earning their money always request a trade to keep their contract. Players who know they can play at the highest level & earn that amount elsewhere are fine with a release. Of course those players don’t get into disputes about not being starters.
