Korn guitarist Head joins Robb to discuss his band Love and Death’s new album, writing with Breaking Benjamin, the completely insane early-days of Korn, the massive success of “follow the leader“, the toxic environment that caused him to quit Korn at its peak, his two year addiction to methamphetamines, the warts ‘n all documentary he put out about his journey towards sobriety “Loud Krazy Love”, and how religion has kept him sane.

Hearing these guys talk about their careers at this point in their lives is really cool. I’m the same age as these guys. I was in bands when Korn were just starting out. I used to go to all of their San Diego shows, used to take photos of them at small ass clubs, got to know Head, Munky, John and David. Head hooked me up with comp tickets and a backstage pass for their show with Manson and Danzig. Brian is such a down to earth, good hearted guy. Here I am at 50 years old, watching this interview and just thinking of those day long gone by. I’m very proud of Brian for raising his daughter alone. I’m proud of all the guys for the success they have enjoyed for decades. I hope Korn keeps making records for another couple of decades. Robb sounds like a cool dude too.

@leadme2thebliss21 ray covered every song you could think of when we were younger. I'll tell you a cool story, when we were in high-school, Ray had posters all over hid bedroom walls of guys like George Lynch, Billy Sheehan, basically all the big metal bands of the 80s. Fast forward a few decades and there's videos all over KZbin of Ray jamming with a lot of those same amazing musicians we once idolized! Pretty cool right.

Both Machine Head and Korn have had a major impact in my life and it still does today. i am glad i survived. Back in 2009 or 10 Love and death came to niverville, MB and a friend of mine knew the driver for the band. Asked him to ask Brian if we could meet him before the show, and he said yes. So I went in and had his book with me, Brian instantly grabbed it and signed it for me, asked me if I was in a band, he could tell I was a guitarist, I guess based on how I look. I was very starstruck but I wish I could have jammed a bit with him. None the less it was awesome. Later in 2011, a childhood friend of mine's sister was dating the guy who made the ikorn ap. The guy and I talked music for a long time and mentioned that he was going to interview the band. So he went and did that, and little did I know but he mentioned to JD about me and how I play and write music. JD, on video sent a shout out addressed to me, it made my year. Weird and lucky man.. Hope I get the chance to cross paths again, I actually know what I want to ask now, years after

I've been saying the same thing for years and most people thought I was crazy. I always thought Issues was such an underrated and underappreciated album. The raw emotion and production is just out of this world good. The chrous on "Somebody Someone" alone helped me get through a rough detox. It's such a powerful song and the whole album is crazy trip. @@zoescarborough4336 "So many people are judging him"? Wait a minute, was Brian not judging Christians? ".....cause there's nothing worse than a freakin’ irritating, you know, religious person shoving it down your throat and there is nothing worse than that and you saw in the documentary, Jonathan saying I hate those mother f*ckers and so you know it, people can't stand em.....'" 52:00-53:00 There is a right way to judge and a wrong way to judge. Reread Matthew 7:1-5, John 8:7, John 7:19, John the Baptist judged, The Apostles judged. The Bible says Christians are commanded to judge RIGHTOUSLY. So the BIG question do you think Brian judged righteously here? Doesn't the Bible say not to judge humanistically, that is by human standards rather than by God’s law? Something to think about.

@@WatchtowerofBabel you make a good point. I believe there HAS to be a balance between the two though. Me personally? I didn’t interpret his words as him judging other Christians. I interpreted it as him judging HIMSELF and taking responsibility. If he felt like HE was shoving his beliefs down people’s throats, thats his personal walk, his personal life. I believe its not up for us to judge what he meant and cast him out without hearing him out. Thats all :)

1:04:19 This is like Brian Welch is describing me. I was the same way....I was skinny most of my life, insecure. You want me to talk to a girl, I need to have few shoots, before that, to open up....No way I would do it otherwise..Then I started drinking some more, and more. Then I did some crazy shit, driving my car through red light..I would get into the fights, borrowing money to drink more, had sex with girls in my car..Now I`am 44 years old....Then I was like 22 or something....it was a crazy time forme for sure...

I really wish I’d thrown up when I did Heroin because I wouldn’t of continued to do it for 17yrs!! I am on maintenance medication now and have turned it around, that was my crutch and I respect ✊🏻 the fact that “Head” has his religion as his crutch (we all have one to keep sane) I don’t believe in religion but if others do and it works for them great 👍🏻 Thanks to Robb because “NFR” has got me through this pandemic 😷 and the guests have been great 😊, it’s great to see your heroes are human beings with the same “issues” as all of us and being open about it 🤘🏻
