Kendrick has spent 13 years in the game if we are counting the year from his first album drop i.e Sec 80 in '11, Kanye's first 12 years from 04' to 16', his run was 'The College Dropout' to 'The Life of Pablo', nobody is touching that consistency and quality. The seven solo album run along with 'Watch the Throne' w/ Jay, one of the best duo-collab albums. Goated shit right there.

That is true but the issue is that those first 12 years weren’t the only years included in his discography. He easily would have the perfect discography had he stopped then, but obviously the later half of his career is spoiling it. Kendrick is 13 years in and while he hasn’t dropped the most albums, he hasn’t stopped dropping quality projects. Not to mention, he has 2 of the greatest albums in rap history/music history. He really has the closest thing to a perfect discography.

I think there’s a difference between perfect and S-tier and it changes a lot. Because with perfect, you technically need to have ONLY perfect albums and one album that isn’t flawless or is just great is enough to drop down a whole tier even if you have like 5 perfect albums out of 6 albums. But with S-tier, the highs can be enough to outdo a tiny flaw. So Kanye and Kendrick can’t be in the Perfect tier, but they are both 100% in S-tier because of the sheer greatness. They don’t NEED only perfect albums in their discography to be in S-tier.

I don’t think that Kanye is in the top tier, only because there isn’t just one bad album, but I do agree with your statement. Consistency is important, but obsessing over it leads to people taking less risks with their music. I think track for track TPAB is Kendrick Lamar’s best album, but in terms of writing and how important the album is to his journey through life and as an artist, I prefer Mr Morale. I’ll take a slightly less consistent album, if it means having higher highs. For example, I think Savage Mode 2 is extremely consistent, but it doesn’t take any risks, and doesn’t have the highs of other albums I think are better.

Ranked by my personal listening experience with each album from start to finish...not by how influential or game changing the album was at the time of its release. 1. Yeezus (super classic) 2. Late Registration (underrated classic the deep cuts are amazing) 3. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Very classic) 4. Graduation (Almost perfect) 5. The Life of Pablo (Amazing) 6. 808s and Heartbreak (The first half is perfect but after paranoid it gets rough imo) 7. College Dropout (didn't age well imo but the singles still slap) 8. Ye (underrated but too short and feels rushed) 9. Donda 2 (better than 7,6 & maybe 5 if finished) 10. Donda (replay value for me isn't there) 11. Jesus Is King (im not into very gospel ye as you can see but still not trash) Collab Albums 1. Watch the Throne (great) 2. Vulture 1 (unpopular opinion but its good) 3. Vulture 2 (mid but kinda forgettable) 4. Kid see ghost ( Ghost town pt1 shits on this entire album alone its very forgettable and they both sound washed to me. The hype never convinced me that this was acceptable from the both of them especially me knowing the incredible songs theyve made together before this album. I will always be disappointed with this album. I've tried to get into liking any of it for years but theres nothing there for me lol)
