@iamtheone2000 .........No. Push Ups barely attacked Kendrick, and all he said was a couple of artists were better than him, he's short, Top owns "50%" which has since been debunked, and further debunked after Ye's remix. Taylor Made was terrible, disrespected Pac, and had little to no substance. Kendrick on the other hand, 6:16 wasn't meant for You or Me, it was meant for Drake, telling him there's a mole in his camp. And for MTG? Ignoring the Daughter verse, everything else he said has weight, and there is evidence to support it 100%.

Gotta say I disagree with the take on Kendrick coming out with his "throne claiming" album right now. In my opinion, it would feel like a step back in his discography on a personal level. MM&TBS had a big time theme of Kendrick choosing himself and kind of denouncing this title of hip-hop saviour. Even throughout his Drake diss tracks, I feel as if he felt conflicted about being the one to levy some of the accusations he did, but felt a personal duty to do so (especially with some of the claims about the industry at large). I would much prefer an album about how this beef has affected Kendrick internally, why he felt the way he did, his thoughts on the industry, etc. It's long been known Kendrick is the king of hip-hop among true fans, but what makes him truly special is his ability to be vulnerable and make his emotions (whether it be anger, grief, ignorant confidence, etc) so accessible to a large audience while still maintaining classic records in the process.

Kendrick undoubtedly won this battle. However as time goes on I think you guys will change your perspective a bit on what this battle means for Drake as an MC. Although he got worked by Kendrick, he had the opportunity to ignore him and go to Turks early and just keep dropping sublims. He ultimately went first with the dedicated diss tracks, & literally took on half the hip hop industry for our entertainment. The battle took a nasty turn at the end but you can’t discredit him as an MC in this. He came with bars, he took on multiple rappers, and he will probably be the only one to ever challenge Kendrick on this level for the rest of their time. Jay-Z/Nas pt. 2

It's time for Drake to take a break. Ant keeps saying he needs to come back confident and stuff, but you can't get called a pedophile on the world stage and then drop a bop, acting like you're still the "6 God." Like Kendrick said, “headshot for the year, you better walk around like Daft Punk.” After all these allegations, Drake can’t just come out and show his face, thinking hip hop will embrace him. You lost, bro. You guys need to be realistic. Drake is almost 40 years old. He can’t keep dropping tracks about money, hoes, and clothes. He’s aging, and while he might try to take the Future route, he’d just be playing into what Kendrick has been saying about his personality all along. The best thing Drake can do is evolve. He needs to come out as more mature, thoughtful, and introspective, like his writing was in his early years. Something like Jay-Z's 4:44, or still poppy but more mature, as Drake knows how to do. As Lu said, evolution takes time. If Drake is going to get laughed at no matter what he does, he should take the time to grow and mature in his lyrical content. Then he can come back with a masterpiece that overshadows his loss. It’s that simple. 🤷♂️
@rick.rula17 ай бұрын
Also, Ant's also saying that Drake has to choose one or the other in the type of music he makes because he has to cater to the 20-year-olds and stuff. First off, it isn’t mutually exclusive. As Kendrick and many other rappers have proven, you can still have bangers on an album that could be in a club and be introspective and mature. Like I said before, the dude is almost pushing 40. Either do what Jay-Z did and get your money in businesses so you can evolve and not be pigeonholed by 20-year-olds in the club, or be prepared to keep making that club stuff but not be respected by the hip hop community. The ghost of whatever Kendrick said about him will be consistently on his back. Also, I would expect him, after all these allegations, to hopefully move away from the “young girls” narrative because if he keeps going, it won’t stop. Like Lupe said, it worked with Pusha T because he wasn’t as big, but now Kendrick got him, and you can’t run from this one.

@@jonasjorgensen8759 Winning a rap battle is all about which angle you choose to go with lies or not lies. If the lie is presented as fact it adds shock value thus getting the public majority to come to your side. Remember that both of these people aren’t trying to win a Grammy, win a Pulitzer, or win a BET award they’re trying to win over the public in their lyrics. Whoever can have the best shock value was also showing their lyrical talent will win the battle. To your point Drake said that Kendrick beat his wife(proven to not be true) and the reason why that angle didn’t work is because there’s nothing to go off of with that, he doesn’t have any material proving that vs Drake who has WAY MORE MATERIAL to create a pedophile angle especially in this culture. It was a smart move. ‘Hit ‘Em Up’ has been described as the greatest diss record of all time, and for good reason, with an opening such as “That’s why I fucked your bitch you fat mother fucker!”, it was a bloodbath from the jump but Faith still contends nothing happened between her and the West Coast rapper and Biggie did as well. So with that logic does that mean Tupacs Diss was invalid, no. Watch a rap battle and you’ll see a lot of people pull shit out their ass. But it’s about how you deploy that “shit” that wins. There are no rules in a rap battle.

Few people in public think he’s a pdf except terminally online K dot stans. He can’t be sued for anything he’s done cuz no evidence. The hate has galvanized and strengthened the fanbase and his next album will be fire simply because he’s hungry to prove himself and has something real and heavy to rap about. I would like to see him go into the psychology of the beef and fire more shots at Kendrick. Kendrick may respond back but now Drake knows his MO and K has exhausted his most powerful ammo. This beef may have been world war one. The war with kendrick is not over. And now he knows Kendrick’s strategy and moves. Kendrick is also in a good place. Drake will be fine.

I don't think Kendrick even cares about the perfect timing for a album release. Kendrick clearly did what he did to Drake out of pure competitiveness, hatred of Drake and some kind of justice mission. It's like he felt that it was his role in the world to do what he did (6:16 in LA kind of references that).
@someoneelse52097 ай бұрын
6:16 doesn't hint that its his "justice mission" to take out drake. It's actually the opposite. He feels the urge to do it despite it going against his religious devotion to peace, but he can't help himself.

Drake lost 20 minutes after Family Matters bro. Meet the Grahams was a moment in time that every fan of hip hop will remember and in retrospect it’s clearly the moment Kendrick won the battle. Family Matters was Drake’s big song but Kendrick buried it instantly. And it’s not even about people wanting Drake to lose, it’s simply Kendrick out rapping him, out barring him, and out strategizing him. Heart Part 6 Drake did his own eulogy, “I’m too famous to be a pedo” bars and mentioning Millie Bobby Brown have to be the biggest self assigned L’s I have ever seen in hip hop. Your mans lost dude, stop trying to salvage the script to save face.

i understand that this is a rap channel and you talk about the music however, kendrick put so much light on how horrible drake is yes, drake's interactions with underage girls were public, but it wasn't a big deal in the news drake is a creep and everybody should reconsider supporting him some information that was new for me is the fact that drake has offenders that he protects, like wtf? u just can't ignore this. A lot of kendrick fans love him for being conscious about social issues, but now lines like "baka got a weird case, why he still around?" go all over you? He literally said he wants him put in a cell, you think that was just show? Also, i have just remembered that u talked about drake's situation being just that he lost a rap battle. However, that is not the case as his creep behavior has never been more discussed and criticized than now. To be fair, famous people get away with being horrible beings all the time, but now it's so big that I don't know if he can recover. To be honest, I don't want him to recover and get away with this again and it would be a tragedy if that creep does. I know it is hard for his fans to accept how fucked up drake is. I don't even remember Lu or Ant talking about drake's questionable actions, but u should reconsider supporting this guy

Scru Face Jean made a really good point about Drake’s constant presence in the game. A good few artist have the luxury of dropping an album and disappearing for a bit, maybe for touring or to take a hiatus to craft their next sound. Drake albums, at least for me, come and go very quickly and when saturating the scene with hot singles becomes the norm, the break you definitely need will be a detriment to your career. You guys hit the nail on the head when it feels like a lose-lose situation for Drake. His only saving grace is either a really really good album or Kendrick being exposed as a clan leader 😭

There’s plenty of pole dancers that still say Drake won despite him getting cooked from every angle possible, so I don’t think it will really matter. Drake is in another subset, his fans are not in the same category as most Hip-Hop fans, they are a part of the league of fans who say Kendrick’s only classic is GKMC because it has “bops” on it. No point in arguing with these fools.
