How to reproduce?
1) Download NFS-VltEd v4.5: nfs-tools.blogspot.com.tr/201...
2) Extract it anywhere.
3) Get the modscript: gist.github.com/nlgzrgn/a751d...
(Click "Raw" and save the page with .nfsms extension (All Files).)
4) Open NFS-VltEd v4.5.
5) Click File 🔻 Open (Ctrl+O) and select your game installation directory.
6) Click File 🔻 Import ▶ ModScript (Ctrl+I) and select the .nfsms file you downloaded in step 3.
7) Click File 🔻 Save. (Ctrl+S) 8) Start the game with a new career and enjoy!

Fun fact If you don't alter the game and have a cooldown it'll be infinite. The blue bar just won't move near the end. The bounty will still increase. I've left my game like that for few hours and I had around 90mln or more. If someone want to try it: Just go to the stadion, use that two pursuit brakes near it and position yourself so you can see both entrances.

I did this exact thing! Except by the construction site (post-pursuit breaker) on Rockport's highway (it was dumb luck - I had 2 cruisers left 😅). My "escape" bar stayed at "neutral" and never changed, despite being hidden for over 45 minutes. But hey-! Canonically, it wouldn't make sense NOT to evade Rockport and into Carbon Canyon, right? Still.. wish this game continued with a "condition 6", it was good fun :)

Makes sense for the game to say you lose. You're the most wanted person so you can't lose the cops and get back to your safe houses anymore. The cops would probably have the location to all your safe houses and break in to arrest you in person. Mia would be forced to spill the beans if the cops find out she's helping you.

I guess triggers and scripts could be considered failsafes in case something falls apart. So even if you could escape via cooldown, there is still that "win" trigger as a failsafe. I love messing with games like this, you get to see how they function and what they rely on

Well done! I have made video with garbage truck in final pursuit, avaiable on my channel. With this car it's impossible to complete the challenge: you have to reach 200+ km/h to evade from police, because this car can reach 201 km/h max

Yes, that's the normal behaviour. I disabled Final Pursuit flag for the event to do that.

That what you described at the end happened to me once. They had a roadblock right before the bridge, I crashed into it in the worst possible way and was therefore too slow for the jump. I also had to restart for another reason once. That reason was: The game froze during the loading screen of that jump. That was seriously annoying. Luckily, I don‘t have that problem anymore.

You can actually evade the pursuit by a bug I found in Need For Speed Carbon which also works in Most Wanted. So what you want to do is try to disable every ACTIVE police unit, and hopefully find a roadblock. Now what you want to do is to stop right next to the roadblock and get yourself busted (MAKE SURE THERE AREN'T ANY ACTIVE POLICE UNITS ON THE MINIMAP OR ANYWHERE ON YOUR SIGHT SINCE YOU WOULD GET BUSTED NORMALLY). Now instead of the game giving you that busted cutscene the pursuit ends and your car would just be frozen in-place. To move, all you have to do is reset your car and now you can drive and you've essentially evaded the final pursuit without editing the games memory or by using mods. However even though now that you are in free roam mode you cannot jump or enter any safe house since the final pursuit is technically like a challenge series but for career mode, and even if you do some how get into a safe house and go into free roam again the game would give you that infamous cutscene after you defeat razor and the final pursuit starts all over again. Also btw in this free roam state cops are always cruising in every corner and being spotted starts the pursuit again but with no music.

When I played it on 360, I managed to lose them without mods. I hid in the corner by the movie theaters. The bar went all the way to "evade" and jumped back to the center. It kept jumping like that until I left the area and found more cops.

Fun fact about challenge pursuits in Need For Speed Most Wanted: Unlike what would usually happen in career pursuit-evasion milestones, where you can keep driving if failed, if you fail to complete a challenge series pursuit-evasion milestone within the time limit, the game will show a "Time's Up!" message just like in the tollbooth time trials. The reason for this is that the developers have put a race time limit that is the same as the milestone threshold value in those challenge series events. When you are in cooldown mode, the game is programmed to keep adding time as a way to freeze the actual time limit for the race, so the time's up message would not show up during cooldown mode, even if the player goes over the time limit while the pursuit timer is frozen. Very nice that the developers did it to prevent an unwinnable state.

I'm not one to subscribe to almost anyone ever but i do regularly check the content on your channel for need for speed purposes. It's very sad that the older need for speed game have bean left to rot since the franchise was traded off to a less conformed company to produce games in the series like the new most wanted which is 100% a burnout the best I can settle for is a full modded gta v with ultra realism and it's still not the same, Need for Speed Carbon & Need for Speed Most Wanted from (2005) need official remsaters I even still play underground 1 and 2 since 3 will never be thank you for the nostalgia, as it means very much to me subscribed

I wonder if the trigger is treated the same as the speed trap milestones... Not going fast enough through a speedtrap doesn’t trigger the “camera” cutscene, so the jump if you’re not going fast enough it doesn’t trigger the jump cutscene, and triggering the “you lost” screen instead?

Now it makes sense to me why Carbon starts with a pursuit by cross... You drive over the old bridge and through the canyons, so cross follows you and that's how carbon is a direct link to most wanted.

A more in-universe explanation would be is that if you did lose the cops like that, and even worse before Mia calls you, the player would just return to a safehouse and get busted right there. So you did lose in the end.

Answer: Yes and we have a feature to do that in Extra Options! In NFSMWExtraOptionsSettings.ini, [Gameplay] section, enable "RemoveOldBridgeBarrier" option (replace 0 with 1 after '=' sign.).

I’ve doing this without any program or cheat. Done it with my old ps 2. The game won’t let you to evade. There was a moment when i lose all the police during this mission but the green evade bar is only half full. It didn’t get to cooldown

I remember when I played this back in the day. I went to the stadions parking lot hiding spot near the old bridge to hide from the feds and I never was able to get cooldown even tho nobody found me for 10 minutes (no mods, europe version, not black edition)
