Ngai is a mixed secondary school, located in Oyam district. It has been in existence for over 20 years and it was opened in 1980. The school was affected by the war; it was turned into military barracks during the 20 year insurgency. After the war, most of the infrastructures were destroyed; the students were sleeping in a dilapidated building. This affected the performance of the students. Through the Koornzaayer foundation, Link to progress constructed both Girls and boys dormitory, constructed rain water harvesting tanks, and currently sponsoring the students in Government Universities. “At list now! “
Atapara Secondary School in Oyam District started as a Primary School in 1959 and was elevated to a Secondary School in 1981 to provide Secondary education for the poor students who could not afford to study in urban schools. It is located 25km South West of Oyam town and 70km from Lira. At the peak of the war, the school was displaced to an IDP camp in Oyam District and all the school property including buildings, furniture, land and office documents were burnt, destroyed, grabbed or stolen by LRA rebels.
