Join me on the bank as i test the NGT carp stalker 8 ft fishing rod. Can this budget fishing rod handle big carp surface fishing, snag fishing and fishing off the bottom?

Been using them for stalking for the last 2 years and you can beat them for the price. Great feel and punch above there mark. Really good and small rods for the money

Definitely, great fun on small waters

I have one and it's superb. NGT gear is so much underrated.... they have come on leaps and bounds over the last couple of years. Quality products at a fraction of the so called 'top flight' brands. PS I'm well chuffed with your 'Edge' micros and pellets I pick up from you last week. I'm from Swindon, where is the lake you reviewed the rod

Cheers mate, I’ve had some great action on these rods. This was at a small lake over near Tewkesbury. Cheers for subscribing. I’m working on some new content as we speak. 👍🏻

I think they are great little rods. I use mine for stalking or floating bread. I’d imagine pike fishing would be good fun with them.

I used to have 2x ngt stalking 8ft rods 6 or 7 years ago us3d to strap to my motorcycle and traveled all over uk and even went to France with them I since purchased the ngt profilers 6ft what a disappointment both had chipped tip eyes cutting line every cast and the replacment I recived snapped just above the joint on a bream often known for there aggressive fights 🤣 Thinking about getting another set of the 8ft ones

Good memories mate. For money they are great. I’ve never tried the profilers I originally bought these as a cheap set up that I didn’t mind crashing about and they’ve stood the test of time. Mine are now collecting dust as find the 9ft xtractors spot on instead

Hi mate. I just had some korum rodiac ‘s on them. About 4000 size i think.

I got an old beachcaster rod by Shakespeare, casting weight 50g to 120g 6ft, would it be okay for using in the margins with a 3 oz led weight?
@CarpCraftUK3 жыл бұрын
Im not sure about a 6ft 120g max cast being a beach caster tbh I would say that’s more or an lrf/ hrf rod. As long as you can play the fish and release line when needed you should be ok. It will not be ideal if you have a lot of snags or over hanging tree lines as you may not be able to stop the fish if it wants to go. If you drop the lead on the take this should help with the load on the rod.

is good for feeder
@CarpCraftUK3 жыл бұрын
I’d image so, I don’t actually fish with a feeder. How much does your feeder weigh once you’ve added the ground bait etc? I wouldn’t want to cast more than 2 ounce

Are these rods suitable for beginners?
@CarpCraftUK4 жыл бұрын
Yes James no issues what so ever, for short range fishing they are ideal. If you check out my latest park lake video these are the rods that I used.

Any rod is suitable for beginners
@CarpCraftUK3 жыл бұрын
Someone new to fishing could use any rod your right but to get the best out of a rod and to learn how a rod compress’s and cast I would suggest starting with a lower test curve. Also a stiffer rod is a lot less forgiving when playing a fish resulting in hook pulls.
@josh35703 жыл бұрын
@@CarpCraftUK yes that’s true wasn’t thinking about the test curves but then that all depends on where they’re fishing

Would this rod land a pike ?
@CarpCraftUK3 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure buddy I never target pike. I’d imagine they are very fast swimmers so may need something with a bit more back bone.

how much weight can this rod hold?

@CarpCraftUK2 жыл бұрын
Yeh. Good little budget rods for a bit of fun. Although I prefer the sonik xtractors so these rarely see daylight anymore.
@ballista22712 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks and do you know how much weight this rod can hold?
@delwigzieful2 жыл бұрын
@@CarpCraftUK bro with due respect the sonik is a lot more to buy you can hardly compare the Sonik to the NGT
@CarpCraftUK2 жыл бұрын
Indeed,I think I paid around £50 per rod for the 9 ft xtractors, so no comparison to these. I like to have different rods for different fishing situations and I find the soniks for me personally a great all rod rod.these are great for small waters and my absolute favourite surface fishing.
@delwigzieful2 жыл бұрын
@@CarpCraftUK yep i was thinking of getting the 9ft Sonik xtractor they look great pack down to nothing so great for transportation what test curve would you recommend for surface fishing
