Thank you so much for explaining these stitches. I learned embroidery when I was 15 from Mrs Christie's "Samplers and Stitches", but this video extends my knowledge of stitches a great deal. I bought a beautiful old box on Ebay...spent far too much and the scent bottles etc. had long since vanished. I decided to embroider boxes to replace the bottles and assuage my guilt too! I am working on the last four boxes and will experiment with some of those stitches, thank you !

The English embroidery showcased in this video is truly exquisite! It’s amazing to see the intricate details and skill that went into each piece from the 1600s-1900s.

Incredible. I have always loved very old and not bold colors of wool in needlepoint. Randomly searching needlepoint videos and found this. I am so glad that you know how to do these art forms. They look very hard to do. Thank you!!!

Hold on… what just happened? I just had my mind blown. Don’t get me wrong, the extant example is exquisite but, that delivery was a knock out. Rich, dense and compact like an exquisite chocolate truffle of information.

The stitches for the tree trunk and the hillock under the rabbit on the left ... is that bullion knots, or just "unclipped pile" ... just like you can clip turkey work and get a much longer pile, or leave it looped for things like flower petals. Thanks.

The stitch on the Queens dress... are you saying onaway (on - a - way)? or something else.? I've not heard of this stitch before, nor can I find how it's made. Help me out please. Thank you for the video.

The technique is Or Nué. If you search for the term, you'll find lots of references to the specific technique she describes here, and to adaptations in needlepoint.

Deny yourself the privilege of external locus of control beliefs. Establishing a strong sense of internal locus of control is a skill to master over time, just like embroidery :)

@@NightTimeDay damn you really got me reading those articles.English is not my native language. Also my comment yad nothing to do with external locus of control.I just commented what came to mind.I was literally finding more and more embroidery that looks good for my work. After watching this video, I watched more about crewel works an finally stitching flowers like this.I wish I will increase my internal locus of control😭 Tysm...Now I know this new term💜
