Johnny im 20 now and i started watching you when i was 10 years old on this game. The first franchise I remember you “ rebuilding” was the nordiques (which i think was 15.) the fact that 10 years later the panthers are about to become champs shows how much time flies. Keep up the great work I love the videos

same. i was a 14 year old pc-only gamer who was stuck with the crappy ps2 port of nhl 09 as the most tecent hockey game available to me. i knew nothing about the games they kept releasing on consoles until i read about nhl 14 somewhere and how they revamped the be a pro mode and renamed it to live the life. i searched youtube to see how it looked, and of course the first result was the original general zod series. been hooked to johnny's content ever since, even went back to watch his nhl 12 and 13 vids. good thing i didn't discover him in like 2021, imagine that backlog lol

Maybe its just me John but I know we'd love to see you do a retro Franchise Mode on NHL 14 after you're done with Utah. This game deserves another one of your commentaries with how revered it is.

@@mrgreekgm754hahaha are you joking? The menus are faster in 14 by a lot man. They are absolutely atrocious in NHL 24. It took me nearly two hours to make 2 created teams and set up a custom season. What the actual fuck.

Brings back so many memories. When I was 13, NHL14 was my first (and still the best) hockey game I’ve ever played. Thats also when I discovered the 🐐 2BCSUPERB. Been watching you for over a decade Johnny!

The last good NHL game. When the EA team actually gave a shit about this game. I remember the videos of Ramjadsingh and his dedicated EA team pouring their hearts into making the game special each year. I played over 1000 games a year during these years. Now I can’t even buy the new games. NHL 15 was such a disappointing start for the xbox one generation.

NHL 16 Legacy Edition works on PC with a ps3 emulator, people update the rosters as well, the Be A Pro experience is way better in the old-gen game.

@@mrgreekgm754 Freezing never happened with me personally and the gameplay isn’t for everyone but I prefer simulation over arcade style I still miss the 2k franchise because lack of competition made EA lazy, NHL 24’s launch was awful missing key additions Why don’t you give one of your favourite hockey titles

I wish Johnny would pick up FHM. He could start a historic mode with the latest Cup winning Leafs team and rewrite history with a big brush. Those first years fly by so fast he'd be in the 90s in a heartbeat.

Johnny I have a suggestion. Can you try the highest NHL 2k that they have on the Wii? It's probably miles better than ea sports. This NHL 14 definitely had nostalgia, year before McDavid was drafted.

Since i grew up with basketball and the NBA, I have never played an NHL game pass 2010’s and I just recently started playing NHL14 and good lord the jump from 24 to 14 was phenomenal, it feels so much more smooth and satisfying to score and do good. How is a 10 year old game out shining a 1 year old shitter.

I would love to see a little stream series of Be A Pro with General Zod on this game since the be a pro in the new games is garbage with too many cutscenes, but this was really enjoyable to watch.
