galapogus10 It is what it is. They basically restarted the whole game, and had to start from scratch to move it to nextgen. Recreating everything oldgen had isn't easy. So it will come back into the game year by year. Just give it some time. :)

Too bad they failed yet again. Commentary hasn't changed other than the person who talks. It still lags behind the play like hell, still sounds too generic and robotic, and worst of all in the videos so far when we player has scored Doc sounds really uninspired. Hell, the hat could've just used a soundbite from an actual broadcast to implement Doc saying "HE SCORRRRRRRES!" Also rather than giving them a written list of contexts to record about how about providing actual video clips of these plays? Seriously it's 2014 no excuses.

Here's my problem; they're marketing this game to Americans when its a CANADIAN game! Yes, I get the fact that they want to sell hockey to the States because you have things like soccer an football dominating the sports world, but if I were them, I would work on securing their Canadian fan-base before venturing out into an already heavily populated sports scene. Perhaps next time, add CBC broadcasters and maybe even add a CANADIAN hockey player from a CANADIAN team to the cover!

New commentary was requested because Thorne and Clement were SO terrible. Emrick is minimally better than Thorne but he too is far too verbose. His syntax is incredibly odd. Listen to some of the things he says and then try to restate each comment in fewer words. You'll be able to come up with something much more direct and punchier each time. And the pace of this video game doesn't really lend itself to talky announcers. I appreciate what EA are trying to do here, but honestly I may play one game with the full presentation and then do what I usually do: turn down the commentary permanently. If you like it, enjoy it. I find it distracting.

People saying EASHL blows have obviously never played a full 6 v 6 game. It is the most competitive mode you will ever find in an NHL game. You never have to worry about your goalie being shit or about the stupid stupid stupid AI. Honestly, without EASHL, this game is nothing, only thing worth playing online is versus, but ice tilt always fucks you up. HUT is fucking garbage because these kids with their parents credit cards just buy packs and get the best players. No matter how good you are you will end up losing to them. Been an NHL fan for quite some time, always been buying them and always been defending EA, but this is just shit. And even you get to play EASHL on 360, then you miss out on the whole graphics emphasis, total BS

They just ran out of time to put in the other game modes. I get other people are mad about some stuff not being in, and I do think its stupid they took another year to make NHL 14 on old gen instead of new, and only spent 1 year on NHL 15. I'm sure they have started but didn't finish. Either way, I expect those features to be in NHL 16. And for a small crew or hard workers for one year, I'd say the game looks solid. great new commentary....how about the fact that there is no AHL in Gm mode? Sure send your prospects down, but you can't see how they are doing or how they are progressing. What about the fact that you can scout rookies, but CANNOT DRAFT THEM? The CPU will draft for you...cool? No, not at all. What about the fact that you neglected to include a player editor? So we are stuck with your terrible ratings for players. Or maybe we can talk about how the creat-a-player is greatly diminished option-wise....a feature which left a lot to be desired in the first place is now even worse. What about all that? ericc gm There is no "live the life". You create your player and pick either go to the draft or pick a team. I went to draft and was just randomly put on a team, there is no draft. You don't have the option to start in the CHL and there is no prospects game prior to the draft. Played my first game and found that you are not able to sim to your next shift and there is no coach feedback. There are no questions from the media. This just seems like a bare-bones game. The game play is great and I love the presentation but all of the features that are missing is very disappointing.
