Schultz definitely isn't coming back after JR pilloried him publicly and blamed him for the defeat to the Habs. He's also not worth the contract he was on going forward and won't get that money again I don't think - just not been the same since his injury. Blueger will be a centre and Simon a winger going forward most likely. The main benefit of adding Colton Sceviour is that Zach Aston-Reese is out for several months and will likely miss much of next season, so Sceviour would fit into his old role. Sheary is UFA, not sure if he comes back, if he does I figure he plugs in on the third line. JR's also said publicly that Johnson will either go back to his off-hand or have to fight for a place, and they're also happy with Ruhwedel and Riikola who've both been extended. Riikola, who wasn't expected to be brought back, just signed for the exact amount of money saved on cap if Johnson is put in the AHL, intriguingly. Guentzel-Crosby-Kapanen Zucker-Malkin-Rust Simon-McCann-? (Sheary? Poulin? UFA or future trade?) Sceviour-Blueger-Tanev (w/Aston-Reese to come back midseason) Dumoulin-Letang Matheson-Marino Pettersson-? (Riikola/Ruhwedel/Johnson or UFA RD) Others to bear in mind are those from NCAA free agents, as Pens have been active with those and are very high on a couple.

look at the advanced stats. matheson is great offensively and bad in his own zone which is usually due to coaching and sullivan can change that. matheson could be a top 2 dman next year if he goes back to what he was supposed to be out of draft.

@@destroyers19_ Or just look at the games. Matheson is horrible. He gives the puck easily to the opponent and makes a LOT of stupid mistakes. For instance, out of the first 11 goals the Panthers let in this post-season 8 were of Mathesons' fault. He either took a bad penalty, went to take a switch causing a 2 on 0, or just plainly let his guy wander into the front of the net. He is one of the worst defensemen in the NHL alongside Jack Johnson.

TacTixHD Florida’s got Huberdeau, Barkov, Yandle, Ekblad, Dadonov, Hoffman, etc. Pittsburgh’s got Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel, Letang, Zucker, and not much else. I know that Crosby and Malkin are both very good players, but I’d rather have Florida’s roster than Pittsburgh
