My fathers computer in our cellar, every weekend I woke up at 7 am, went to the cellar and played NHL 2000. I want to live it again. NHL Bombers as Pavel Bure, Chris Pronger, All McInnes, Ray Bourque, Patrick Roy, Valerij Zelepukin, Oleg Kvasha, Olaf Kölzig, Arturs Irbe and many others..Best #memories

I feel like NHL 98 (for PS1) , 2000 & 2008 have the best music. Just hearing this brings back flashbacks, I had a MTL Canadians team I made where Ronnie Stern was the team captain and i had all these goons on the team and we would kick ass..LOL I literally played NHL 2000 (on PC) for 3 years until 03 came out. Thats how much I loved this game. Played Franchise mode for like 20 seasons or something till the game made me stop hahaha

@kr3zu1 I remember running it on XP a while back. Run the 3DSetup executable and make sure to select the Direct3D renderer. It's the software renderer that doesn't work on modern machines. I'd give it a shot, but I much prefer NHL '10 now

@08WSChamps sorry man i didn't mean to accuse you of slanging the gameplay in the newer games lol. nhl 08 and 09 litterally only had 2 songs i liked and they were both airbourne songs. somehow those games in gameplay got better, and i'm always left wandering "what are they gonna do for the next game????" hahaha yeah man NHL 11 is gonna be soo epic!!!

NHL 96-99 had the best songs, intos, and menu songs. This was the begining of the end of good music in the NHL franchise. 2000-2010 for the most part suck and get worse every year. the soundtracks they pick r God awful.

@Slater1488 i still think the music sucked completely in 08-10 a couple good ones IMO, But to make myself clear I in no means meant that the gameplay or graphics sucked, b/c 08-10 were revolutionary and the most fun hockey gms ive ever played in my life! I cannot wait 4 NHL11 it looks like its gona be totally epic!

@08WSChamps i agree that the sound track suck, but nhl 08-10 did not suck, nhl 05 was the worst in history they took out everything good about it (like create a player)but yes nhl 96 - 99 had some epic music

I second the comment for 'DosBox'. It takes a little getting used to, but I was able to install/run NHL 96 and 97 through DosBox, so I imagine NHL 2000 should work. I tried installing NHL 2000 on Windows XP Pro and got the similar install errors that you got. PS. Give NHL 10 on 360 a try. The Online Team Play is AWESOME, I've played some great 5 vs. 5 games online.
