Stayed till the end. Pretty safe bets all around, but Tampa outside playoffs is just not in the books just yet and Carolina's defense is still their best dimension considering how they play the game. Sad to see Ottawa not getting their act together, they deserve some slack. Keep up the work!

I think last year, he had borderline zero help in Chicago, plus he was a rookie. Now that he has some help, and has adjusted to the NHL, he has clearly proven he has an elite shot that goalies can’t read, I wouldn’t be surprised.

No hate man but kind of a lazy take on Anaheim. They had over 320 man games lost to injury last season, predominantly to their top players like Zegras, Carlsson, McTavish and Mintyukov. Accounting for all of their health plus a full season of Zellweger and Gauthier and they should be very competitive on many nights, especially with how much of an upgrade Cronin is over Eakins behind the bench.

I always appreciate positive hockey discussion, thank you for commenting! So to explain my reasoning a little better, first off it is a bit difficult to always be 100% aware of the ins and outs of every NHL team and unfortunately the Ducks are one of those teams I don’t know very much about without doing a lot of research. So for this video, I had to use the ducks subreddit as well as some ducks fan blogs to kind of see the direction the team is going. Second, you’re absolutely right that injuries were a key component of the Ducks performance last season, however I believe oftentimes injuries showcase that a team lacks depth needed to succeed, same thing I said for why I placed the Wild last in the Central. I also believe for the ducks to be successful, they need more pieces. The Maple Leafs and Golden Knights both had more man games lost to injury and still were successful in the regular season because they had those extra pieces to make up for their shortfalls. I believe if the Ducks had addressed this in the offseason, they would definitely be more competitive, but they didn’t, resulting in the placement I gave them. The most reasonable way I see them finishing higher is if Huberdeau does not bounce back and the flames fall to 8th, and the sharks don’t bounce back even with their new talent. I could see the ducks finishing 6th but they really need those second line pairing/forward players to push them over the edge. Also keep in mind these are just my predictions and I’m very rarely right so who knows haha. You know your team better than I do and if you think they can be better they probably can. I just want you to know a lot of time goes into the making of these videos and when I don’t know something I make sure to do my research (and add those sources to the description). I do not want to make lazy, unentertaining content and I hope you don’t think that’s what this is. There’s a method to my madness just if I went that in depth for every team this video would be an hour long. Regardless, I really do appreciate you watching this video and sharing your opinion, always feel free to comment if you think differently than me, these are just opinions and I’m happy to discuss my hockey opinions with anyone. @@StickNPuckTV Maybe those teams had more man games lost, but not to their top 6 forwards. They played without 3/6 top forwards for most of the year. Name me a team that could be successful playing without their second line 60% of their games. And injuries on D weren't much better. They were most penalized team with worst (well 31st) PK unit that played in a new system under new coach. If they manage to play disciplined hockey to cut down on penalties and play some decent PK they should improve on last years points. If you add to that growth of their young players from last year and with additions of Zellweger and Gauthier in the lineup they should go up in standings and not down. But don't worry, you aren't first to not give any credit to the Ducks. If some "analysts" can rank them 7-8 in Pacific why wouldn't you.

Chychrun had 16 power play points, 5th on the Sens overall, as well as having 41 points, also 5th on the Sens. the Sens did nothing this offseason that suggests they will get better unless all of their players have a career year. And with an aging Claude Giroux, on top of not having Tarasenko to start the year, that seems highly unlikely.

Yes every team has good players, it’s the NHL. Having good players clearly didn’t work out last season, as the additions you received don’t negate the losses you got. Don’t get your hopes up and think a goaltending change is going to magically promote you to top 4
