The picture of Nationwide Arena for the Columbus Blue Jackets isn't accurate. I've been there for a Nashville game and it was very pretty inside and out.

@Spadezzgaming Outside of the playoffs, its practically a church it's so dead in there. Start hitting competing teams in the states or smaller buildings in general (winnipeg) and it's a whole other story. Had a bunch of good games in rogers no doubt but its nowhere near close to the top

I'm from Edmonton and I just want to say that the picture shown was not the best underneath the building( a road goes underneath the arena but not a tunnel just a catwalk thing) and there are giant screens for pictures a Wayne Gretzky statue and a room full of awards . Also if you get a sky view it is in the form of a oil drop

The teslas are dope, and I love the statues and the huge hedman and stamkos poster, stairs, lightning bolt statue, and the andreychuck statue. It's a dope arena. And it's secluded so it's obvious it's an arena. Biased but hey

i agree the tesla's are nice, but it is not a great arena. I went there this year, and I didn't exactly love it. you can't see the deck at all from the corner seats in the upper level because of the pointless team flags. It is very dark up there too. I don't hate it, but I don't love it.

Panthers fan here; the BB&T center looks awesome but it's in the middle of nowhere. About 15-20 minutes away minimum from Fort Lauderdale and about 45 minutes outside of Miami. The thing is surrounded by the Everglades and suburbia. Frankly, I think our attendance isn't great because of how remote and isolated it is from everything, but other than that it's a great venue

No the reason they put it in the middle of nowhere is so it's easy to get too. Have you ever tried to go to marlins park in miami? It takes an hour to park especially if you're trying to get to a 7:00 game. Rush hour is a killer in the city.

Ryan P Edmonton's new arena (Roger's Place) was built in the shape of an oil drop. The picture these guys used is not the best at all. They should have used an overhead view.

Ryan P The BB&T center has huge banners of the panthers players outside the front doors (which wouldn’t be in front of a mall) and the huge parking lot means low traffic and ease of access. And it takes 5 minutes to walk across the parking lot which is not a problem for normal people.

Post2Post I get what your saying about the Capitals arena, but it's because it is only a couple blocks from the White House so they blended it in with all the memorials, museums, science, and art buildings. A sports arena in the same area of skyline as the White House would make that area look real tacky being the seat of power of the free world. It has to look smart like the rest of the buildings. I'm in the minority but I kinda like it to be honest .

I studied engineering under one of the folks who designed the Saddledome. They weren't actually trying to make it look like a saddle. The shape comes from the unique design of the roof which is supported by cables hanging from one end to the other and then had concrete slabs placed on top of them, so it is literally a suspension roof. But of course once people saw pictures of the design the name became obvious, especially since it was located on the Calgary Stampede grounds. The other unique structure that was built for the Olympics was the speed skating oval. I don't know how you describe that roof but it also is quite unique.

the reason Nationwide Arena is Brick is because there is a hole area around it called The Arena District if you ever come to Columbus is one of the best Gameday experiences you will have in all of sports the arena district is awesome Columbus is awesome

FYI the MTS Centre was very constricted with size. They tore down the Eaton centre (shopping) and took up a street lane. I think they did as much as possible to make it big. The Rogers Arena (Vancouver) was also limited as the Georgia viaduct was already in place. Also, BC Place is right next to the Rogers Arena.

The PNC arena was just bought by a rich guy and is renovating many things and installing some things like ice projections, new locker rooms and a upgraded exterior in the next few years. Current status is locker rooms, and now you can go in the tunnels before the game!

Amalie looks light years better than it did back before Jeff Vinik bought the team. Before it looked bland and unfinished. Adding that staircase, awnings, statues, and a party deck overlooking Downtown and Thunder Alley (the main plaza right in front of the arena) really did wonders for the building.

On the left side of Key Bank Center (sabres arena, first niagara in video) they have a little plaza that was sort of cut off in the video. It has statues of the French Connection and lots of pictures of sabres players along with little plaques on the brick support poles of sabres fans first game dates, players who have died, and fans who have died. It's pretty nice, especially now with Harbor Center connected to it.

It's a good thing that you only did the outside because as someone who has been to MSG I would take major points off from the inside tbh. As someone who lives in the metro NY area and has been to Prudential Center many times, Prudential Center is a WAAAAY better place indoors.

Bridgestone Arena in Nashville is great. Not a bad seat in the building. Also they have cheerleaders and a great live band which often has surprise celebrity singers. The location is the best right in the heart of downtown. You can walk right out of the arena onto Broadway which is full of bars, restaurants, and live music clubs everywhere with no cover charges. Makes for lots of fun before and after games.

United Center was built right across the street from old Chicago Stadium and the exterior is supposed to mimic the 1929 building, not that it would change your thought, but just a bit of history. At night the LEDs in the vertical "windows" don't leave any question who is in the building that night so it looks a little better but it is purposefully not modern or 90s style of design.

When I went to Pittsburgh to see a game, on the big glass wall there were images of their superstars. It was crazy and unbelievable! There is also a statue of Mario Lemieux outside.

With the Gila River arena and as an ex employee, the outside of the arena doesnt really scream coyotes. The front of the arena facing West Gate has a littlr more coyotes but throughout the rest of West Gate there are a lot of thing of the coyotes with portraits of players and the logos in the windows of shops

I am a huge Islander fan. I live 5 min away from the coliseum. I was crying when they moved to Brooklyn. It takes forever to get to the stadium. The Barclays center doesn't feel like a hockey arena. Also as that Islander fan was saying, the scoreboard is not centered.

It's funny because if you want to go to Boston for a game, you can take a train right to TD Garden. North Station is one of two main train stations in Boston and sits right under TD Garden, kind of like how Penn Station sits right under MSG.

Part of why the TD Garden is rectangular is because it's on a rectangular train station (North Station) and it would be kinda hard to change that

Again with my Carolina input... Your picture is a little old. First, the lawn has been replaced with colored brick pavers. They have huge decals featuring the Canes and NC State on the glass, and the whole area has Canes and NC State flags all over the place. The architectural details you pointed out are the triangles that are seen throughout the arena. The triangles pay homage to the whole area. Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill is commonly referred to as the "Research Triangle", which refers to the 3 major universities in the area, UNC, Duke, and NC State. The arena is also used for NC State men's basketball.

The one in Calgary looks like a Pringle potato chip, lol. Oh and the Bridgestone arena is USUALLY decked out in in Preds colors and signage so that picture was either an older one (before we got better, lol) oooor there was some sort of concert or other event going on that day. Our city has been growing so much since the arena was built that much of the surrounding buildings have taken aspects of it into their construction and it's just made a really neat futuristic vibe downtown. Anyways, thanks for the video and putting us so high up!

I totally agree there needs to be upgrades over the Saddledome to better facilitate the future of the sport, but I dont get it when a bunch of hate is put onto the Saddledome. It is 100% unique, representative of the city, and has a lot of personality to it. So I'm glad to hear they have a good opinion of it.

Gotta say you definitely picked a very odd angle of Gila River to showcase lol, been there many times and I couldnt even tell you where that picture was taken. Personally think you should've used a picture from the Westgate (north side) entrance. Or what you could've done is used multiple pictures for all arenas To Help express how you guys feel about an arena with more detail, just some minor pointers.

On the Scottrade Center, there is a massive sign with the blues 50th anniversary logo on it with Plager, Pietrangelo, and Brett Hull on it. It definitely screens hockey now. Also, you can't see it in the picture, but there are statues of famous Blues players with their career stats on it. Not complaining about your ranking by any means that's for sure! I honestly think we need a new arena. This rink isn't the greatest although I love it for what it is

The ACC in Toronto looks like an aircraft hanger. I wonder if the Little Caesar's arena in Detroit will have the top lit up with the Piston's logo when they are playing there? The T Mobile arena could have used hockey sticks for the lighting, instead of the arched metal outside. I really like your video, Good Job! I'm trying to place your accent. Are you in TO?

No way. I remember as a kid, growing up outside of Boston, doing an exchange with a youth program in Charlelttown. We'd go up there one year, they'd come down to us the next. We had some Bruin's players and college kids from Boston schools (BU, BC, Northeastern) that grew up playing in our program come to do skill drills. Loved the area up there. Especially the water wasn't 50 degrees in the middle of summer. Love your videos!

Where the Canucks play looks like an awesome arena. the xcel energy center looks very cool and is in a hockey area. for a warm area I would give props to where the Kings play the staple center.

In Pittsburgh during the hockey season and Finals they have a big Stanley Cup on the front and "2016 Stanley Cup Champion" logo as well

I spent college in DC. I can assure you when my Penguins came to town it was quite fun. That being said, I would rather be watching from the old civic/ mellon arena than inside or outside what is now capital one arena. It is connected to a weird mall with a bowling alley and movie theater, and the movie theater has bigger signs. Most fun part is always cheering outside after a good Penswin
