Great win for the VGK boys! They mostly kept to their game plan (besides staying out of the box). A confidence booster is great but let's hope they don't get too cocky and let off the gas. Game 1 at least shows VGK is not scared of the superstars or what the "experts" say about their regular season stats. I'm sure VGK is expecting a push back so this series will definitely be entertaining and nerve racking for fans on both sides! GKG!

Vincent Deharnais. OOF. That was bad, and that's a dang it. Laurent Brossoit showing shades of Mike Smith from the 2019 Playoffs. That's a dang it. Leon's four goal game was impressive but just like last night's game between Dallas and Seattle, where Pavelski also with a 4 goal game was the only player finding the back of the net for the Stars, they needed more from everyone else. Let's see if 97, 93, 18, 2, 25, and other players can up the offence for the Oilers in Game 2. Also, on defence they gotta get tighter to the opposing player in front of Skinner. Try to tie their sticks up, maybe get a hooking penalty called on them.

This Oilers team is dynamic. Sadly, they don't have a Bobrosky between the pipes. Play-off hockey dictates that you have a goalie that can "steal" a game if your guys have a tough period/night. The Oiler goalie is standing at the door handing out goals, not stealing them. It's got to be tough for Skinner and my heart goes out to him but this sport can be cut-throat. The Oilers have to try to score AND protect Skinner. That is easier said than done, especially in the play-offs!

Like i said - Oilers have no defence. They are playing like 8-year olds in their own zone. Drai can't do everything on his own, and as usual, McDavid's impact diminish as the playoffs goes on. It will really hurt his legacy if he cant lead the Oilers to a cup.

2nd & 5th? < He could have played better. Not a Skinner fan by any means but he did make some big stops when they were down by 2, sad that he can't make big saves when the score is tied or in the Oiler's favor. Oilers had many days to prepare and yet in the first period no one seemed to know what the game plan was, including the coach.

I've seen a few goals in the LA series where if Skinner just stood up, he'd block the shot. Pucks going up top while he is on his knees. I'd be going with the other goalie for game two.
