Listened to the live audio of this, came here just to see that final shot. Lots of weird referee calls (and missed calls) that game, especially the one called out by the lineman after the fact; otherwise a fantastic front from both sides and some terrific plays around the net.

What a great effort by Edmonton especially after dropping a 2-0 lead and taking that 4 minute double minor in OT. Skinner played very well and held them in the game when they needed him most, McDavid also made up for his missed chance by getting the OT winner which is nice to see. Let's see if they can carry this momentum to game 2.

Looking at the stats throughout the year it is very clear that the Oilers have just as much depth as the Stars and it was proven tonight. For the most part, boys played fantastic against an experienced and dangerous Stars team. Lots of good defensive plays, lots of determination, and a newly confident Skinner being a brick wall in that net! @@dgib1694 hmm i've watched a few replays from the broadcast, and the overhead, and it really doesn't look like that happened.. it just looks like a complete brain-fart on McDavids part EDIT : there's a shot in the replays from McDavid's left side, that's looking straight across the net, and the D-Man is no where near him to stop his stick.. McDavid just absolutely dropped the ball on that.. it should have gone in (he had a wide open net)

It was pretty evenly matched this one, skinner played great, so did Ottenger. Oilers did the right thing and took the lead early instead of chasing the stars. Only game 1 but it was a great game from start to finish. Both teams were even in the 1st, oilers a little better in the 2nd and the 3rd the stars were better. This will be a razor tight series. Stars might be a little rusty as they improved as the game went on. Game 2 will be really interesting

As an oilers fan, Otter is a monster. Not that the rest of your team is bad, but he is terrifying imo. Makes crazy saves, and Tanev, is just Tanev. Proving why he was so wanted as a D-man. This is gonna be a hell of a series

@@Shantel430 People are so quick to write of teams after one game. They did that when the Oilers lost game one against the Canucks. This is going to be a long series. Sweeps are rare when you have evenly matched teams like this. Dallas only won three more games than Edmonton did, in the regular season.
