Leon Draisaitl continued his scorching playoff run with two goals and an assist, Jack Campbell made 27 saves in relief and Zach Hyman fired home the OT-winner as the Edmonton Oilers edged the Los Angeles Kings 5-4 to even up their playoff series at 2-2.

Not a single team would have started him in the playoffs based off his last 5 games. It's shocking he actually played well.

I watch all my NHL highlights on Sportsnet. nhl and espn videos lag and buffer and are blurry often. Never have that issue with Sportsnet. Maybe is the outdated format, but i’ll take it.

He won’t be a star until he stops watching the play in his own zone. When challenged, he is a turnover machine, never winning puck battles. Doesn’t block shots, doesn’t clear the front of his net. To me, the mark of a good defenseman is being able to defend above all else.

Phenomenal win by Edmonton! The Oilers were down 0-3 at the end of the first period and then miraculously come back to tie the game at 3-3! Then the King's score a go ahead goal in the early in the third and then the Oilers again tie the game with only 3 minutes left in the game! And then in early in overtime, Zach Hyman scores and wins it for Edmonton! The Series is now tied 2-2!!

What a game! What a series! Canes fan here, and watching this series is much fun. East-West, US-Canada… I don’t care, I just want to see exciting hockey. And these two teams are delivering. FYI, for my friends up north, if it did miraculously come down to a Leafs-Oilers final, I will watch with as much enthusiasm and pleasure as I would if it was Boston-Vegas or whatever. In fact having at least one team from Canada reach the finals is good for hockey as a sport. Great hockey is great hockey. Of course I am biased and would like to see my Canes make it to the finals. Being a small guy is quite the struggle during the playoffs when physicality is ramped up. If your disappointed in Yamo then you have to be just as disappointed in anyone else on the bottom 6.

@@wt8213 @ bottom 6...no, not really. I noticed Yamo's weakness this season, and have been following him every time he's on the ice so far in the playoffs. I've probably stayed fixed on him for about 80% of his ice time so far. I have yet to see him do anything particularly helpful. No doubt it's super tough to be a small dude in the NHL, and I feel for his struggle, but that doesn't change his value to the team. I believe he drags them down. Trying following him next game. You might see what I mean.

The “body check” on Draisaitl also looked clean at first but video replay showed lower body contact that caused him to fall. I understand your frustration at those two calls, however they were the right calls whether you like it or not

This was an amazing game, maybe the most exciting of the playoffs so far, given how many chances were exchanged. Clearly, no lead is safe. And Edmonton could've been down and out, but they proved that experience MATTERS. Those 20 playoff games (and two series wins) across the 2021 and 2022 playoffs (plus 4 pre-playoff games in 2020) have made them resilient. They've made them believe that they control their own destiny. *Momentum is a huge deal in the playoffs,* and tonight, two teams (Dallas and Edmonton) stole momentum back from their opponents, while two have thus far been unable to maintain a successful push back against much stronger opponents, and have therefore been put in the unenviable position of having to either win 3 straight games against excellent teams...or go golfing in Arizona. And honestly, I can't see either the Islanders, and especially not the Panthers successfully pulling off the first option. I'm curious to see which category the Devils, Kraken, Jets and Lightning fit into. My prediction is that only the Devils are doomed to fall tonight *(edit: I stand corrected, the Devils are more resilient than I thought, while the Jets have lost their two most important players, and the Lightning are feeling the effects of 5 years of playoff hockey*).* I really think we're going to see a repeat of last year, where 5 of 8 first-round series went to 7 games. _This is noteworthy since last year is _*_already_*_ the only time in the salary cap era, and only the second time since round 1 became a best-of-7 that 5 or more 1st-round series went 7 games** (it's actually more common for ZERO 1st-round series to go the distance***)._ *Last night Tampa Bay played in their 93rd playoff game (96th if you count the seeding games in 2020) since the last time they missed out on the post-season! **The other happened in 1992, when 12 teams played a deciding game 7 in their opening round series. ***This has happened 4 times, in 1996, 2001, 2017 and 2020.
