The Leafs won all of their cups before 1967 (and during 1967) so too bad for them. The Red Wings won 4 times after 1967. So if we put two and two together, we can see that the Montreal Canadians won more cups after 1967 than any other team and won more cups before 1967 than any other team. So yeah. A shitload of cups. Even if we removed everything that happened before 1967, Montreal would still be the franchise with the most stanley cup wins to this day.

As a life long Habs fan, I vividly remember 86 and 93, and if I'm honest, I took it for granted that Mtl. would always be in the mix and I never imagined how wrong I could be. The serendipity of success in these playoffs is unprecedented. I had no expectations and my highest hope was for the Habs to play well enough to be competitive and not get embarrassed. Win or lose, I cannot be disappointed, because this team to man, has played hard every minute, and Carey Price has a well deserved chance to win a Cup. I'm humbled and very appreciative of the well wishes and support I'm seeing from fans of other teams. That, more than anything else, tells me how special these playoffs are.

I've never had a single team I cheer for but I always cheer for the team(s) that have players. After the regular season I can't say I was really that impressed with the Habs and didn't think they'd even get far in the playoffs but after watching them play in the playoffs you just can't help but love them. Every single guy gives their all every single night, they play for the team with a heart I don't think anybody else has shown this post season. I really hope this is your year, Allez Montreal!

Full credit to Montreal winning with heart, Vegas you're still a very good team, but never change goalies through a series I think it unsettled the team. You gotta have the one guy you have faith in and stick with him.

Fleury coughed it up in game 3 when the Knights were on their way to getting a series lead (causing OT and their eventual loss), so they went with Lehner in game 4. Lehner managed to win that game (despite the Habs severely outplaying the Knights), and they then went back to Fleury? I'm not saying the types of goals that were scored in game 5 (which was unquestionably Montreal's best, most complete team performance this post-season) would have a higher chance of being stopped by Lehner, but when your goalie is playing out of his mind (as Lehner was in game 4), PLAY HIM THE NEXT GAME (unless it's a back-to-back...but in the playoffs, even then you might want to start the same guy). He might make the improbable saves that Fleury couldn't. You can't necessarily rely on it, but we need to remember that, after the years of preparation and training, goaltending is all about confidence. Lehner had it. Fleury didn't. Honestly...I don't get it. Fleury's a good goalie, but Lehner is clearly a better goalie, at the present moment anyway. He had the mental game dialed in. Of course...Price ALSO had his mental game dialed in. Tonight was HIS best game of the post-season. Wow...guy earned his cap hit tonight, that's for sure.

@@VoIcanoman Fleury's best days are behind him, but I think Vegas was putting faith in him because of how good he has been over his career. They were probably hoping he would show glimpses of his former self, but it just wasn't meant to be. Plus, I think Price wants it more, he was supposed to be the "next Patrick Roy", but has been let down time and time again by his team folding around him. He isn't going to let this, possibly his last chance at a cup, pass him by.

That Lehky goal will go down in the history books for all Habs fans. We haven't felt lifted like that in forever. And on Quebec's national holiday after a year and a half of brutal Covid restrictions. We didn't win the Cup.
