I am a Canadiens fan! I think the Canadiens/Bruins rivalry is one of the biggest rivalries in sports! Even though I am a Bruins hater, I realize the importance of these games, not only for the rivalry but for what it means to hockey! Tonight, the Bruins celebrated 100 years of existence! An original six team and integral part of the NHL! The NHL would not be the same without the Boston Bruins and the Bruins/Canadiens rivalry! Having said that ... The ceremony took far too long, drop of the puck, an hour and fifteen minutes after the scheduled 3pm eastern! As a non-Boston hockey fan, by the time the puck got dropped, I was bored, frustrated and angry! So I can believe it affected the Canadiens play for the entire first period! Especially after last night's debacle by the referees in NY! my opinion 🦂

I don't even think the opposing teams care if Cole Caufield scores. If they shutdown the other Montreal Canadiens players then they know they will most likely win the game. Just like this particular game that was on yesterday afternoon. Caufield scored 2 goals and Boston wins 6-3.

Montreal fans should not blame Primeau for the loss. He has no defense. They look so disorganized. Savard is an orange pylon. Hutson although very good offensively gets easliy bumped off the puck and is a liability in his own zone. Matheson is only good offensively. He is lousy in his own zone. Two players that Montreal counted a lot to turn things around are big disappointments . These are Dach and Newhook. Heinemann is a bright spot. The coach, Marty St Louis is very marginal but he cant do miracles . He doesnt have the horses to compete. Starting to come under scrutiny is the GM Kent Hughes. His acquisitions are not convincing. Slavkovsky could be another flash in the pan.

Problem is where he fails Montembault save that team. It just shows how incompetent the defense is when he’s in nets because he’s left all alone for shots and he concedes and he’s also inexperienced so he’s out of position on some occasions. Monty makes does crazy saves price used to do so we’re kinda blinded to the awful defense

Also Savard and Hutson to me are great defensively, Savard is probably the best on our team if not Guhle is, but Savard is blocking shots bodying players and is giving stability to that PK. Hutson has to grit so even if he get pumped of the puck he comes to get it back, he’s great at back checking, I remember against the Kings bro bodied Adrian Kempe, a way bigger guy than him but that game he used his energy and his head to make plays defensively. At face value u may say he’s easy to beat when u actually look at those games bros relentless

On a weak team, almost everyone looks bad on many occasions. He is one of the few Habs who can skate and make plays at a modern NHL level. If the team gets better this year or next, he will look very good. You throw in the towel too early.

Our habs are the same team as last year... + Dach. So we're supposed to improve, right? But this year, we are regressing. Ok, we lost Laine for the whole year. That wasn't supposed to happen. But we won Dach who wasn't there before. We should at least see even more improvement. But now, with more or less the same players, we are regressing. That has to be because of the coach.
