Montreal Canadiens RW Cole Caufield is struggling mightily right riow. He couldn't hit the ground with his hat. Huge snake bite. We thought Cole would score 50 goals like Richer did in 1988 and 1990 both in a Montreal jersey. Last year he scored 26 goals and was on a 46 goal pace. This year he has 8 goals in 34 games and is on pace for 19 goals.

And I have been on the opinion, that those couple of horrible games, where nearly every shot went in, were just some grazy days, that teams from time to times experience. But in those games there was one goal, that resembled one today, skating around the net and then scoring, which seem to me a bit cheap, and I think he needs to pay attention to those kind of scoring efforts.

This whole thing about empty net goals from deep in your own end is utter BS and runs against the very spirit of hockey. 'The better team' should at least be able to gain the red line (esp if they're like, you know, already on the power play?). Refs should call it for the lame-ass icing that it is; it would make for a better, more respectable sport. Only the bookies and Gary Bettman would stand to lose.

Constantly turning a blind eye to obvious penalties committed by Montreal but calling softies on the Canes. Also a penalty on Drury that they ignored despite it being an obvious penalty shot.
